The scroll wheel includes a ring member that is formed by a light transmissive member, which is configured to transmit light. The operation device includes: a light source that is configured to generate light for nighttime illumination; a wheel illumination light guide member that is configured to guide the light, which is outputted from the light source, to the scroll wheel; and a metal film that is formed at an inner peripheral surface of the ring member.

Dimmer Switch
A dimmer switch for controlling a light includes a wheel assembly, a rotational motion detector and a dimmer control. As the wheel assembly is rotated, the light is dimmed. An on/off control is responsive to a push detector for detecting whether the wheel assembly has been pushed. The on/off control controls where the light is on or off.

An input detecting device includes an input section where position input is performed, a position detecting section included in the input section and detecting an input position regarding at least the position input, a rotary member mounted on the input section so as to be rotatable and including an operation surface on an outer peripheral surface thereof with which a rotating operation is performed, a rotation detection section that is rotatable together with the rotary member with respect to the input section and a position of which is detected by the position detecting section, and an extended section extending laterally from the operation surface so as to be disposed between the operation surface and the input section.

An electronic dial apparatus includes a rotating operation member, a conductive member rotating with the rotating operation member, a conductive pattern having a plurality of conductive areas electrically insulated from one another, the conductive member being configured to slidably contact the conductive pattern as the rotating operation member rotates, and a mode setter that sets a plurality of modes in accordance with a set position of the rotating operation member. The mode setter sets one of the plurality of modes based on a combination of a plurality of signal levels that depend on a contact position between the conductive member and the conductive pattern. The mode setter sets at least one of the plurality of modes for two combinations of the plurality of signal levels different from all combinations of the plurality of signal levels corresponding to each set position of the rotating operation member.

Provided are a setting device, a setting method, a setting program, and a camera that are capable of preventing erroneous operations with compact configurations. A display unit is provided on an upper surface of a shutter speed dial. The display unit displays a dial plate image. The dial plate image includes an image picture of a lock release button. A rotation detection unit detects that the shutter speed dial is rotationally operated. A touch sensor detects that the lock release button is pressed. In a case where the shutter speed dial is rotationally operated while the lock release button is pressed, a shutter speed is switched.
OPERATING DEVICE
A scroll wheel in a ring shape partially protrudes from an opening portion of an operation surface. A rotational shaft is located on one axial side of the scroll wheel and is rotational together with the scroll wheel. A fixed shaft is inserted inside the scroll wheel on another axial side and rotationally supports the scroll wheel while being non-rotational. A corrugated portion is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the scroll wheel and is continuous in a circumferential direction. A hole portion is recessed at a position, which corresponds to the corrugated portion in an axial direction, beyond a center position of the fixed shaft. An elastic member is inserted in the hole portion. A click pin is slidable along an inner peripheral surface of the hole portion and has a tip portion urged onto the corrugated portion with the elastic member.

The mode setter sets one of the plurality of modes based on a combination of a plurality of signal levels that depend on a contact position between the conductive member and the conductive pattern. The mode setter sets at least one of the plurality of modes for two combinations of the plurality of signal levels different from all combinations of the plurality of signal levels corresponding to each set position of the rotating operation member.
