TOGGLE-TYPE SWITCH FOR PORTABLE COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE
20190287745 · 2019-09-19 ·

A toggle-type switch for a portable communications device includes a circuit board to be positioned within a cavity of a portable communications device. In one instance, the circuit board includes a first flank, a second flank disposed opposite the first flank, and a central rib disposed between the first and the second flanks. The circuit board has a non-planar shape, such that the first flank and the second flank are each offset relative to the central rib. The toggle-type switch includes a first electrical contact element coupled to the first flank, a second electrical contact element coupled to the second flank, and a projecting lever located above the central rib and between the first flank and the second flank. The projecting lever has a first leg to engage the first electrical contact element and a second leg to engage the second electrical contact element.

AN INTEGRATED THREE POSITION ROCKER SWITCH

An integrated three position rocker switch for vehicles comprises a housing configured to support one or more components of the switch, a knob assembly, a first micro-switch, a second micro-switch and knob. The knob assembly is disposed in the housing, wherein the knob assembly comprises a knob pivotally supported in the housing, and a plunger coupled with the knob through a resilient member. The first micro-switch is coupled with the knob assembly in the housing, and the second micro-switch is disposed in the housing in vicinity of the first micro-switch. The knob is configured to move in multiple positions for actuating the first and second micro-switches to perform more than one operation.

Switch assembly

A switch assembly includes a switch unit including a button and an arm extending from the button along a height direction, the arm including first and second contact portions spaced apart from each other along a longitudinal direction; and a slider unit extending along a width direction and including a nose to contact the first and second contact portions respectively at first and second engagement positions. The switch assembly provides a reduced need for space and enhanced friendliness in touch and feel.

Rocker input mechanism

A rocker input mechanism includes an actuator that is operable to pivot against the interior surface of a housing through which an actuation surface of the actuator projects. Pivots or up-stops on the edges of the actuator are biased against the interior surface by dome switches contacting a switching surface of the actuator that is opposite the actuation surface. Thus, the actuator is able to pivot with respect to the interior surface to activate the dome switches when force is exerted on the actuation surface without bending or flexing like typical rocker buttons. As a result, the rocker input mechanism may have a feel to a user similar to non-rocking input mechanisms like single mode buttons.

ROCKER SWITCH ELEMENT FOR MOTOR VEHICLES WITH PROTECTION AGAINST UNWANTED ACTUATION

A rocker switching control element for electrical sliding roofs on a vehicle overhead panel has an actuation rocker formed as a switch with switching positions and is arranged on a substantially planar control panel. The actuation rocker is recessed such that it does not project beyond the panel edge region. The transition between the panel edge region and the actuation rocker is formed with the panel edge region forming over a first width a goblet-like edge set back by a first depth, and an adjoining edge, separated by a gap of width, of the actuation rocker, which edge is recessed by more than the first depth in the non-actuated state and set further back continuously over a second width by a second depth. The recess is shaped overall such that inadvertent actuation of the actuation rocker by an object significantly larger than a human finger is prevented.
