DISCONNECT SWITCH BLADE ELECTRONIC INFORMATION SENSOR SYSTEM FOR DETECTING BLADE PERFORMANCE AND FOR ENSURING PROPER BLADE CLOSURE

A disconnect switch blade electronic sensor assembly system for a disconnect switch including a sensor assembly directly attachable to a switch blade for detecting the switch blade position, acceleration vectors and angular velocity of the switch blade relative to a cooperating disconnect switch stationary break-jaw contact assembly using a self-contained array of on board sensors for detection to ensure that the switch blade is in full electrical and mechanical contact with the stationary contact assembly in a switch fully closed position switch and fully out of electrical and mechanical contact with the stationary contact assembly in a switch fully open position. The switch blade sensor assembly can include a visual indication component to provide visual indication on the sensor assembly of switch status relative to the break-jaw assembly which can be seen on the ground or may initiate a remote visual or other indication of such switch status.

Three-position disconnector switch

A three-position disconnector switch includes an earthing contact, a power out contact, a power in contact, a piston, and a threaded rod. A length of the piston is such that in a first switch position an outer surface of a wall of the piston makes an electrical contact between the power out contact and the power in contact. The length of the piston is such that in a second switch position the outer surface of the wall of the piston does not make an electrical contact with either the earthing contact or the power in contact. The length of the piston is such that in a third switch position the outer surface of wall of the piston makes an electrical contact between the earthing contact and the power out contact. The piston includes an inner threaded section configured to engage with the threaded rod.

Three phase unitized high voltage switch assembly with a cantilevered telescoping base

Switch gear for interconnecting a plurality of power transmission lines including a number of high voltage switches arranged in three phase unitized relationship for routing power in one or multiple directions. The switches are pre-mounted on a beam to form a unitized assembly which is attached in the field to a vertical support structure or substation structure. The unitized assembly includes a telescoping base design that permits the width of the unitized assembly to be reduced so that the assembly can be transported by truck to the installation site and then the switch assembly may be extended to the final width for installation at the site. The telescopic base design is preferably cantilevered and includes free rolling capability for easily manually reducing or expanding the width of the unitized assembly when the beam is lying on a ground surface.

SIDE BREAK AIR SWITCH WITH ANTI-ROLLING BLADE LOCK

An electrical switch including a jaw assembly, a housing and a blade assembly. The jaw assembly is electrically connected to a first electrical conductor. The housing assembly is electrically connected to a second electrical conductor. The blade assembly is fixedly attached to said housing assembly at a first end thereof and having an electrically conductive blade contact fixedly attached to a second end distal from said first end. The housing assembly and said blade assembly pivot about a first axis to drive said blade contact into said jaw assembly to close said switch. The blade assembly is operable to rotate about a second axis perpendicular to said first axis only when said distal end of said blade assembly is seated in said jaw assembly.

Side break air switch with anti-rolling blade lock

A high voltage, high current, switching device includes a jaw assembly electrically connected to a first electrical conductor, a housing assembly electrically connected to a second electrical conductor and a blade assembly fixedly attached to the housing assembly at a first end thereof. The blade assembly has an electrically conductive blade contact fixedly attached to a second end distal from the first end. Further, the housing assembly and the blade assembly pivot about a first axis to drive the blade contact into the jaw assembly to close the switch and the blade assembly is operable to rotate about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis only when the distal end of the blade assembly is seated in the jaw assembly. Thus, the blade does not pivot about its longitudinal axis prematurely, for example, before it is properly seated in the electrical terminal.
