A wearable ring-shaped electronic device having a ring portion engageable with a first finger of a user wearing the device is provided. The ring portion includes an interface, and a display unit operatively coupled with the ring portion. The display unit comprising a face that is coupled with any or a combination of a face cover and a face edge such that, upon interaction between a second finger of the user and the interface, interaction-based data is transmitted to and processed by at least one processor of the device so as to enable one or more notifications to be either displayed on any or a combination of the face cover and the face edge, or audibly notified to the user.

Magnetic float switch

A magnetic float switch is provided. The magnetic float switch can include a housing configured to float in a liquid, response circuitry located inside the housing, an internal chamber located inside the housing, a float state indicator housed within the internal chamber, and an actuating arm housed outside the internal chamber and coupled to the response circuitry. In operation, when a position of the housing changes so as to indicate an increasing level of the liquid, the float state indicator can move within the internal chamber from a first position to a second position to initiate a magnetic force between the float state indicator and the actuating arm so as to actuate the actuating arm from an inactive position to an active position. Then, when the actuating arm is in the active position, the response circuitry can initiate a response to the increasing level of the liquid.

Magnetic electrical switch

A magnetic electrical switch apparatus includes: a switch assembly that includes: a switch body housing including a stationary contact; a shaft configured to move relative to the switch body housing, the shaft including: a moveable contact; and a first magnet; and a movable support member including a second magnet. The moveable contact and the first magnet are configured to move with the shaft. Moving the movable support member moves the second magnet relative to the first magnet, and a magnetic interaction between the second magnet and the first magnet moves the moveable contact relative to the stationary contact to thereby change a state of the switch assembly.

Filter interconnect utilizing correlated magnetic actuation for downstream system function

A filtration system interconnection structure having a filter manifold including a sump housing and a first correlated magnet located on or connected to a portion of the manifold, and a filter cartridge including a filter media, first and second end caps sealed to the filter media, and a second, paired correlated magnet located on or connected to the filter cartridge housing body. The first and second correlated magnets are interconnected via magnetic communication upon insertion of the filter cartridge into the sump housing, and upon movement of the filter cartridge into an alignment position, the correlated magnet located on or connected to the manifold is permitted to translate as a result of the magnetic communication. The polarity profiles of the paired correlated magnets are aligned such that a repulsion force is created when the filter cartridge is inserted within the manifold sump housing.

The invention relates to a remote-control system (1) comprising: a pushbutton (8) that can be pressed by a user for inputting information in that the user applies a pressure in a direction (18); a sensor magnet (23) arranged on the underside of the pushbutton (8), when viewed in the pressure application direction (18); and an armature magnet (27) arranged below the pushbutton (8), when viewed in the pressure application direction (18), and fixed relative to the pushbutton (8), wherein the magnetic poles (39, 41) of the sensor magnet (23) and of the armature magnet (27) are arranged in such a way that the pushbutton (8) is pressed by the sensor magnet (23) away from the armature magnet (27), against the pressure application direction (18).

Switch

The present invention relates to a switch and has particular application in temperature regulation devices used in domestic and commercial electrical appliances such as stoves, ovens or the like. It includes an arrangement of a pair of arms that co-operate with a biasing means in combination with magnetic components provided on each of the arms. This arrangement does away with the need for the switch to use relatively expensive bi-metallic components and which may be prone to arcing and potential damage to or fusing of the contacts of the switch.

Bistable retractable buttons

An electronic device includes an enclosure and a keyboard positioned within the enclosure. The keyboard includes a substrate and a key mechanism. The key mechanism includes a keycap support mechanism, a keycap supported by the keycap support mechanism and movable relative to the substrate, a ferromagnetic component attached to the keycap support mechanism, and a selectively magnetizable magnet. The selectively magnetizable magnet system may include a magnetizable material and a coil configured to selectively magnetize and demagnetize the magnetizable material. The key mechanism may include a collapsible dome biasing the keycap toward the extended position.

MAGNETIC REED SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND METHOD

A magnet reed switch assembly. The magnetic reed switch assembly includes a reed switch having a body and a pair of electrical contacts disposed in the body. A ring magnet has a bore, and a portion of the body of the reed switch is disposed within the bore, with the ring magnet positioned close to the pair of electrical contacts. The ring magnet is movable along the axis of the body between a first position and a second position. A plunger includes a proximal end coupled to the ring magnet and a distal end having a sensing magnet. When a ferrous target is disposed near the sensing magnet, the plunger moves toward the ferrous target causing the ring magnet to move from the first position to the second position, and the reed switch to move from an open state to a closed state.
