A bypass switch provides a bypass path between a first terminal and a second terminal. The bypass switch includes: a first contact device; a second contact device; and a plunger being moveable from an initial state, via a first state, to a second state, wherein in the initial state the first terminal and second terminal are conductively separated; in the first state a movement of the plunger causes the first contact device to close a first conductive connection between the first terminal and the second terminal; and in the second state the plunger mechanically forces the second contact device to close a second conductive connection between the first terminal and the second terminal.

System and method of increasing reliability in high pressure switches

A high pressure switch for controlling electrical signals between elements of a gun for perforating hydrocarbon wells. The switch uses mechanical energy from an explosion to change from one electrical path to a second electrical path. The switch has a piston that translates from the shockwave to electrical connect a firing pin to a conductive member while opening an electrical path from the piston to the firing pin.

ACTUATOR
20190006137 · 2019-01-03 ·

An actuator driven by combustion of powder satisfactorily transmits energy for driving an output part to the output part. An output piston part has a specific end face that receives driving energy. A sealing member confines the combustion products in a first space separated by the sealing member. The sealing member has a fixed end portion and a contact portion that is in contact with the specific end face. In a state before the combustion of powder in an igniter, the contact portion is located at an initial position. With the combustion of powder in the igniter, the contact portion shifts to an operative position with the sliding motion of the output piston part while being in contact with the specific end portion.

A device is provided for switching an electrical circuit for electrical power levels of from 500 watts to 10 megawatts, which has two or more pyrotechnic disconnecting devices, which are connected in series between a terminal point and a load in order to interrupt the electrical circuit. The device also has at least one closing mechanism, wherein the number of closing mechanisms is less than the number of pyrotechnic disconnecting devices and wherein each closing mechanism is arranged in a parallel connection with a single pyrotechnic disconnecting device in order to bridge the one pyrotechnic disconnecting device and thereby close an interrupted electrical circuit.

Electric circuit breaker device

Electric circuit breaker device that can be downsized by reducing the distance the moving body moves, including a housing; a cut part placed inside the housing; and a power source placed on the housing, further including a moving body having a first arc-extinguishing space into which the cut part is inserted and housed, and which is filled with an arc-extinguishing material, and a moving body housing part that allows the moving body to move between the first end part and a second end part opposite to the first end part, which is configured to cut the cut part while moving toward the power source P, and the housing includes an expanded arc-extinguishing space positioned so as to face an end part of a separable piece of the cut part when the moving body has moved and stopped, and the expanded arc-extinguishing space being filled with an arc-extinguishing material.

Electric pulse generator

An electric pulse generator configured to power at least one load and including an electric discharge switch including at least one piston and a chamber in which the piston can move, a propellant gas-generating trigger for moving the piston, at least one punch rigidly connected to an end of the piston, and at least one stack of layers formed from at least one pair of electrodes separated by a layer of dielectric material. The electric pulse generator further includes an energy storage device associated with the or each pair of electrodes of the electric discharge switch in at least one series connection, the load or each load being configured to be connected in parallel with the or each series connection.

Bypass switch

A bypass switch includes: a casing; a vacuum interrupter disposed inside the casing, the vacuum interrupter being disposed such that a movable contact is movable to a fixed contact; a first fixing bus-bar fixed to the casing; a second fixing bus-bar fixed to the casing to be spaced apart from the first fixing bus-bar; a moving pusher connected to the movable contact; a drive source installed in the casing, the drive source pushing the moving pusher to a position at which the movable contact and the fixed contact are contacted with each other; and a multi-contactor disposed to be contacted with the moving pusher. Accordingly, the moving pusher can rapidly contact the movable contact with the fixed contact. Further, the moving pusher can be moved with a small external force. Thus, it is possible to minimize the size of the drive source and the power used in the drive source.

PERMANENT SHORT-CIRCUIT DEVICE
