Electric circuit breaker device
An electric circuit breaker device includes an igniter provided to a housing, a projectile disposed in a cylindrical space formed in the housing, the projectile being movably formed in the cylindrical space by energy received from the igniter, a conductor piece that is provided to the housing, forms a portion of an electric circuit, includes a cutoff portion to be cut off by the projectile in a portion thereof, and is disposed with the cutoff portion crossing the cylindrical space, an arc-extinguishing region positioned within the cylindrical space, on a side opposite to the projectile prior to actuation of the igniter with the cutoff portion interposed between the arc-extinguishing region and the projectile, and configured to receive the cutoff portion cut off by the projectile, and a coolant material having a fibrous form and disposed in the arc-extinguishing region.
Pyro-fuse circuit
Apparatus and method for controlling a pyro-fuse. A pyro-fuse control system includes a current sensing circuit and a diagnostic circuit. The current sensing circuit is configured to determine whether the current flowing in conductor exceeds a threshold current. The diagnostic circuit is coupled to the current sensing circuit. The diagnostic circuit is configured to determine whether an indication of current exceeding the threshold current generated by the current sensing circuit is caused by current flowing the conductor and is not caused by a fault in the current sensing circuit.
Deadfront arrester with disconnector device
Systems for disconnecting a surge arrester. One embodiment provides a surge arrester comprising a housing, a connecting interface configured to connect to an electrical power grid, and a disconnector device coupled to the connecting interface. A metal oxide varistor stack is coupled to the disconnector device, and a ground side connection is coupled to the metal oxide varistor stack, the ground side connection configured to connect to a system ground. The disconnector device is configured to disconnect the connecting interface from the system ground based on a predetermined disconnection condition.
Mechanical Breaking and Fusing Combined Multi-Fracture Excitation Fuse
A mechanical breaking and fusing combined multi-fracture excitation fuse includes a shell, wherein a cavity is formed in the shell, and at least one conductor penetrates through the shell and penetrates through the cavity; at least one excitation device and one breaking device are arranged in the cavity of the shell; the excitation device can receive an external excitation signal to drive the breaking device to act to break a conductor corresponding thereof to form at least two fractures on the conductor, at least one fuse is connected in parallel onto the conductor. The melt is connected in parallel with at least one fracture, and the melt is connected in series with at least one fracture.
Active/passive automotive fuse module
An exemplary embodiment of active/passive automotive fuse module in accordance with the present disclosure may include an electrically insulating base, a fuse plate including a bus bar portion disposed on a top surface of the base above a projectile cavity formed in the base, the fuse plate further including a fusible portion electrically connected to the bus bar portion and adapted to open when an amount of current flowing through the fuse plate exceeds a current rating of the active/passive automotive fuse module, the active/passive automotive fuse module further including a pyrotechnic interrupter (PI) disposed atop the base and including a projectile positioned above the bus bar portion, the PI configured to drive the projectile through the bus bar portion upon actuation of the PI.
Electric system
An electric system has an electrical energy source connected to an electrical energy sink by at least one feeding line. Each feeding line (8) is in at least one position therealong between said source and said sink provided with an arrangement configured to interrupt arcing in the feeding line would such arcing reach this position. The arrangement has a temperature dependent member which upon an increase of the temperature thereof above a predetermined level activates an irreversible movement of movable means (24) which by this movement cuts off the arc (a) and/or removes hot ionized gases (28) and by that prevents the arcing to continue in the feeding line past the arrangement.
