SWITCHING DEVICE FOR FAST DISCONNECTION OF SHORT-CIRCUIT CURRENTS
A switching device for fast disconnection of short-circuit currents is provided. The switching device comprises a switching bridge with a movable contacting element and a fixed contacting element. The switching bridge being operable in a closed state, in which the movable contacting element is in contact with the fixed contacting element, and an open state, in which the movable contacting element is spaced apart from the fixed contacting element. The switching device further comprises an electromagnetic switching drive with a coil for generating a magnetic field and a magnet anchor, a guide sleeve to guide the movement of the magnet anchor in the magnetic field of the coil, a pyrotechnic propellant charge located in the cavity, and a supporting device for supporting the guide sleeve. The magnet anchor is arranged within the guide sleeve such that a cavity is formed below the magnet anchor.
CURRENT INTERRUPT DEVICE BASED ON THERMAL ACTIVATION OF FRANGIBLE GLASS BULB
Embodiments described herein relate generally to a current interrupt device (CID) including a frangible bulb that is configured to be thermally triggered. In some embodiments, the CID includes a breaking contact electrically coupled to a fixed contact and held in electrical contact by the frangible bulb. In some embodiments, the frangible bulb is configured to break at a temperature threshold. In some embodiments, the breaking contact is configured to bend, rotate and/or otherwise deform about a hinge point in order to become electrically disconnected from the fixed contact when the frangible bulb breaks. In some embodiments, opening the electrical circuit between the breaking contact and the fixed contact may prevent overcharging, overvoltage conditions, overcurrent conditions, thermal runaway, and/or other catastrophic failure events.

The invention relates to a device for connecting and disconnecting an electrical load circuit, operated at high voltage by a voltage source, in a transportation means that is electrically driven by a drive operated at low voltage. According to the invention, a contact stud (6) is connected to the push rod (11) of a linear drive (2) and the contact stud (6) can be moved into at least two positions in a switch housing (4), wherein the switch housing (4) has, on its internal wall, at least two contact rings (5), one of which is connected to the voltage source (7) and the other is connected to the consumer circuit (8).

Direct current electric circuit interrupting switch assembly
A direct current interrupting switch assembly comprising a primary conductor and a secondary conductor integrated with a direct voltage source and a load. The primary conductor of the switch assembly has two branches, the first branch including a fuse with a melting member and the second branch including a pyroswitch with an interrupting member. In a first position, the second branch of the primary conductor is uninterrupted, and the interrupting member is a sufficient distance apart from the secondary conductor. When the interrupting member is moved to a second position, the current in second branch of the primary conductor is interrupted and the interrupting member contacts the secondary conductor of the switch assembly.

A motor vehicle with an electric motor, in particular a hybrid or electric vehicle, has a high-voltage vehicle electrical system with a high-voltage stored energy source which supplies electrical energy to the electric motor for driving the motor vehicle, and a low-voltage vehicle electrical system for supplying electricity to a number of consumers in the motor vehicle. An electrical signal path is provided between the low-voltage vehicle electrical system and the high-voltage vehicle electrical system and powered by the voltage from the low-voltage vehicle electrical system. A controller in the motor vehicle is configured to cause a predetermined change of the signal on the signal path from a first signal state to a second signal state, wherein the first signal state indicates normal operation of the motor vehicle and the second signal state indicates an emergency state of operation of the motor vehicle which deviates from normal operation. The high-voltage vehicle electrical system is designed to separate the high-voltage stored energy source from the high-voltage vehicle electrical system in response to the predetermined signal change. The signal path includes a first and a second signal line, wherein the predetermined change of the signal on the signal path includes a change of the signal level on each of the first and second signal lines.
