SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR POWER DISTRIBUTION IN AN ELECTRIC MOBILE APPLICATION USING A COMBINED BREAKER AND RELAY
A mobile application including a motive power circuit including a power storage device and an electrical load; a power distribution unit (PDU) electrically interposed between the power storage device and the electrical load, wherein the PDU includes a breaker/relay positioned on one of a high side and a low side of the power storage device; wherein the breaker/relay includes: a fixed contact electrically coupled to the power bus; a movable contact selectively electrically coupled to the fixed contact; an armature operationally coupled to the movable contact; a first biasing member biasing the armature into one of the first position or the second position; and a means for selecting a down force value of the movable contact, thereby providing for a physical opening response of the breaker/relay in response to a selected current value.
FUSE LIFE MANAGEMENT IN AN ELECTRIC MOBILE APPLICATION
A system includes a vehicle including a motive electrical power path; a power distribution unit having a current protection circuit disposed in the motive electrical power path, the current protection circuit comprising a fuse; a controller, comprising: a fuse status circuit structured to determine a fuse event value; a fuse management circuit structured to provide a fuse event response based on the fuse event value; and a fuse life description circuit structured to determine a fuse life remaining value, wherein the fuse event value comprises a representation that the fuse life remaining value is below a threshold value, and wherein the fuse management circuit is further structured to provide the fuse event response further based on the fuse life remaining value.
Relay
A relay has a case, a first fixed terminal including a first fixed contact, a second fixed terminal including a second fixed contact, a movable touch piece including a first movable contact that is disposed facing the first fixed contact and a second movable contact that is disposed facing the second fixed contact, the movable touch piece being disposed in the case and disposed so as to be movable in a direction in which the first movable contact and the second movable contact come into contact with the first fixed contact and the second fixed contact and in a direction in which the first movable contact and the second movable contact separate from the first fixed contact and the second fixed contact. The first fixed terminal includes a first contact support disposed in the case and configured to support the first fixed contact.

The first fixed terminal includes a first contact support disposed in the case and configured to support the first fixed contact.
ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAY
A pair of fixed terminals each include an internal terminal, an external terminal, and fixed contact. The internal terminal is located inside the housing. The external terminal includes an external connection portion and protrudes outward from a housing. The housing includes a side portion extending in a moving direction of a movable contact piece. The external terminal is arranged without protruding outwardly in a width direction of the pair of fixed terminals beyond both ends of the side portion in the width direction of the pair of fixed terminals at a height position of the external terminal in the moving direction. The external connection portion is formed to be larger than the internal terminal in at least one of the width direction or a thickness direction of the pair of fixed terminals.
RELAY
A relay includes a housing, a fixed terminal, a screw receiving member, and at least one female screw member. The fixed terminal has a plate shape. The fixed terminal includes a fastening portion having at least one screw insertion hole. The fastening portion is exposed from the housing to an outside and is screwed to an external terminal. The screw receiving member overlaps with the fastening portion in a penetrating direction of the at least one screw insertion hole and is provided in proximity to the fastening portion. The at least one female screw member is provided integrally with or separately from the screw receiving member and is prevented from rotating by the screw receiving member.

Electromagnetic relay deicing system including control circuit
An electromagnetic relay deicing system includes an electromagnetic relay that includes a common terminal, a normally open terminal, and a normally closed terminal and that supplies electric power from an electric power supplier to an electrical apparatus when the common terminal and the normally open terminal are connected, and a control circuit that controls an on-state and an off-state of the electromagnetic relay. During the on-state of the electromagnetic relay, the common terminal and the normally open terminal are connected by a movable piece. During the off-state of the electromagnetic relay, the common terminal and the normally closed terminal are connected by the movable piece. The control circuit deices the electromagnetic relay by causing, during the off-state of the electromagnetic relay, electric conduction between the common terminal and the normally closed terminal connected by the movable piece so that ice on a surface of the normally open terminal melts.
