DEVICE WITH A KEYPAD THAT INCLUDES A BEZEL ASSEMBLED WITH A FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE

A device with a keypad that includes a bezel assembled with a flexible substrate is provided. The bezel comprises: a first aperture and a second aperture separated by a retention plate. The flexible substrate comprises two or more arms joined at joining ends, and separated at distal ends, distal from the joining ends; at least one arm, of the two or more arms, comprises: a first button portion and a second button portion configured to respectively mate with the first aperture and the second aperture from a rear-side of the bezel, the first button portion and the second button portion separated by a non-button portion. The flexible substrate may be assembled with the bezel to form the keypad by inserting a distal end of the one or more arms through the first aperture from the rear-side of the bezel.

Keyboard device

A keyboard includes a substrate, a limit connecting member, a keycap, and a liftable connecting member. The assembly area of the substrate includes a through hole and a curved side wall standingly disposed on the substrate. The bottom edge of the curved side wall is adjacently connected to a periphery portion of the through hole. One side of the curved side wall facing the through hole includes a recessed groove. The limit connecting member is disposed on the assembly area and includes an inner fixing portion received in the through hole and an outer fixing portion enclosing the curved side wall and fixing with the inner fixing portion. The inner fixing portion has a protruding portion received in the recessed groove. The keycap is disposed on the assembly area. The liftable connecting member is connected between the keycap and the assembly area and is assembled with the limit connecting member.

Keyswitch Assembly

A keyswitch assembly is provided. The keyswitch assembly includes a base plate, at least one pressing mechanism disposed on the base plate, a plurality of elastic members disposed on the base plate, and a keycap covering the at least one pressing mechanism and the plurality of elastic members. In the embodiments, a plurality of elastic members is disposed at equal intervals to support the keycap. By way of such configuration, the user experiences the same or similar hand feeling when pressing any point of the keycap. There is no difference in the pressing feel due for pressing the middle or two ends of the keycap. Meanwhile, the problem of the poor electrical conduction resulted from the deformation of the keycap may be avoided.

ENHANCED PUSH-BUTTON

An enhanced push-button includes a keycap disposed on an elastic member and having a top surface and an opposing bottom surface, and a reinforcing member mounted on the bottom surface of the keycap and having an outer surface facing the elastic member and an abutting portion located on the outer surface. The abutting portion has a contact surface recessed on the outer surface. The elastic member extends into the abutting portion such that the contact surface is abutted against the elastic member for allowing the keycap to be pressed with the reinforcing member against the elastic member to trigger a circuit switch. The invention can have better overall structural rigidity and operating feel and can maintain the pressing quality of the push-button and is suitable for low profile keyboards.

Tactile switch assembly in an electronic device

A tactile switch assembly can include a tactile switch structure electrically connected to one end of a flexible circuit. The tactile switch assembly has a first length when the flexible circuit is in an unfolded state and a smaller second length when the flexible circuit is in a folded state. The flexible circuit folds over itself one or more times in the folded state. The tactile switch structure can include a stiffener positioned over a switch. The flexible circuit can extend over at least a portion of a top surface of the stiffener and wrap around the stiffener at a bend region and extend under at least a portion of a bottom surface of the stiffener. One or more component chambers can be created in openings in the stiffener that provide additional locations for one or more electrical components to be electrically connected to the flexible circuit.
