VOLTAGE LIMITING DEVICE
The invention relates to a voltage limiting device which has an electromagnetically operable switching device for producing an electrical connection between a first cable terminal and a second cable terminal wherein a first electrical conductor connects the first cable terminal to the one terminal of the switching device and a second electrical conductor electrically connects the second cable terminal to the other terminal of the switching device. The voltage limiting device is characterized in that one of the two electrical conductors comprises an electrically conductive support plate. The expansion of the support plate in the width direction allows, in contrast to an electrical conductor which is characterized by a small width in relation to the length, a current displacement in the width direction. As a result, the forces acting on the conductive parts of the switching device are reduced and the switching contacts are relieved, as a result of which the electrical properties of the voltage limiting device are improved. As an electrical conductor, the support plate improves not only the electrical properties of the voltage limiting device, but as a mounting plate also simplifies the assembly and mounting of the individual components of the voltage limiting device.
Switching Device With Dual Conductive Housing
A switching device for an encapsulated electric power distribution switchgear and an electric power distribution switchgear with at least one such switching device are disclosed. The switching device has a first electrically conducting housing which encloses an actuator mechanism for a first contact assembly and a second electrically conducting housing which encloses a second contact assembly. The first electrically conducting housing is arranged at a distance from the second electrically conducting housing. The switching device further has a third housing which is electrically insulating and arranged between the first electrically conducting housing and the second electrically conducting housing. Magnetic circuit arrangement for an electrical switch
An electrical switch includes a fixed contact member and a plurality of movable contact fingers that pivot into and out of engagement with the fixed contact member. The electrical switch also includes a fixed magnetic member and a plurality of U-shaped magnetic members housing the plurality of movable contact fingers. Upon occurrence of a fault condition, each of the plurality of U-shaped magnetic members is magnetically pulled towards the fixed magnetic member, without contacting the fixed magnetic member, such that each of the plurality of movable contact fingers is held in engagement with the fixed contact member.
ROTARY ELECTRONIC COMPONENT
A rotary electronic component includes a base member, a shaft attached to the base member so as to be rotatable around an axis, and a regulating member that regulates a rotation angle of the shaft. The shaft includes a flange section including a projecting sections and recessed sections alternately disposed in a circumferential direction. The regulating member includes a contact member in contact with the projecting sections and the recessed sections of the flange section of the shaft, and a biasing member that biases the contact member radially inwardly toward the shaft.
Property enabled feature integration strategies and their fabrication methods for metallic glasses
An article comprising a bulk metallic glass skin having one or more functional features integrated therein is described and a method of forming the same is described. The one or more functional features exhibit a variation in stiffness between the one or more functional features and the bulk metallic glass skin that is defined by an applied force over an achieved deformation. The stiffness of each of the one or more functional features is at least 1000 times less than an average stiffness of the bulk metallic glass skin.
Hermetic Terminal for High-Capacity Relay and Contact Device for High-Capacity Relay Including the Hermetic Terminal
A hermetic terminal for a high-capacity relay includes: a metal container provided with a through hole; a pipe lead inserted through the through hole; an insulating glass hermetically sealing the metal container and the pipe lead; and a terminal base passing through and hermetically secured to the pipe lead and made of a low-resistance metal.
