A keypad for an electronic device is provided and includes a substrate comprising an array of dome elements, an array of frets, an array of mechanical keys disposed in rows interleaved between the frets, a first deflection web supportively disposed adjacent to the substrate and a second deflection web disposed between the frets and the keys and the first deflection web. The substrate is configured to pre-load the first and second deflection webs toward the keys.

Rotatable knob interface

A sensing system is provided. A processing system drives a first subset of sensor electrodes with a sensing signal and receives corresponding resulting signals. The processing system also drives a second subset of the sensor electrodes with a reference signal and a third subset of the sensor electrodes with a guard signal. A rotatable electronic device includes a first coupling electrode and a second coupling electrode. The second coupling electrode couples with and receives the reference signal from the second subset of the sensor electrodes. The rotatable electronic device also includes a conductive region that rotates relative to the first coupling electrode and the second coupling electrode. The resulting signals are affected based on the position of the conductive region relative to the first coupling electrode when the first coupling electrode is coupled with the first subset of the sensor electrodes.

Systems and methods for providing input component assemblies for dome switches are provided. In some embodiments, an input component assembly may include a contact area coupled to a circuit board for a switch, a conductive covering for enclosing the circuit board, and a dome positioned over the conductive covering, where the dome is operative to close at least one circuit of the switch when the dome is depressed towards the conductive covering.

TACTILE USER INTERACTIONS FOR PERSONALIZED INTERACTIONS

A processor may identify that a user is interacting with a device, where the interacting is identified from the user touching the device. The processor may receive tactile data associated with the user from one or more tactile sensors. The processor may extract, utilizing an AI model, one or more features of the tactile data. The processor may classify, utilizing the AI model, the tactile data as having a tactile data characteristic. The processor may output the classification to an interaction management module.

Switch housing for capacitive switches

The switch housing for capacitive switches has an outer contact surface and flat electrode structures which are arranged on the inside and in a position opposite the contact surface and which are placed by two-component injection molding in recessed regions of the housing body injected from a first, electrically non-conductive plastic component by a second, electrically conductive plastic component. Preferably, both plastic components are a polycarbonate, the second plastic component containing carbon fibers.

Rotary control device

A touch-sensitive rotary control device with an illumination function includes a rotary encoder having a conductive outer casing and a rotatable shaft extending from it, the shaft operating as a light guide for a light source located in the rotary encoder, a conductive sleeve mechanically coupled to and surrounding the side of shaft, and electrically coupled to the conductive outer casing of the rotary encoder, so that touch-sensitivity is provided and light is allowed to exit the shaft and such that the device can be provided as a kit of parts or form part of a mixing console.

X-ray imaging system with a combined filter and collimator positioning mechanism

A radiation therapy system includes an X-ray imaging system that is configured with a combined and simplified filter and collimator positioning mechanism. In addition, an X-ray imager of the RT system is only positioned at a few discrete locations within a plane that is a fixed distance from the imaging X-ray source when generating X-ray images. As a result, for each of these discrete imaging positions, the simplified filter and collimator positioning mechanism positions a specific collimator-filter combination in a specific location between the X-ray source and the imager.

TOUCH-SENSING SYSTEM INCLUDING A TOUCH-SENSITIVE PAPER
20210373707 · 2021-12-02 ·

A touch sensing system is configured to determine a state of a paper material indicative of a touch input on the paper material. The actions include receiving one or more values of features representing physical properties of a paper material. The system generates, by a pair of electrodes in a conductive material that is electrically connected with the paper material, an electric field in the conductive material. The paper material is configured to shunt current from the conductive material when the paper material is touched. The system measures the electric field in the conductive material in the conductive material. The system generates an approximation of the electric field in the conductive material. The system determines with a classifier a state of the paper material indicative of a touch input on the paper material.

SWITCH DEVICE

A switch device includes an operation button including an operation surface on which a push operation is performed, a guide recess portion that has an elongated shape surrounded by inclined surfaces and is provided on the operation surface to guide an operating finger, and a biometric information sensor including a reading surface for reading biometric information of the operating finger in contact therewith. The reading surface is exposed situated nearer an end surface of the guide recess portion in relation to a longitudinal center of the guide recess portion.

SENSOR DEVICE AND STEERING WHEEL
20210371001 · 2021-12-02 ·

A capacitive sensor device for use with a steering wheel is provided. The steering wheel includes a rim and a spoke that is connected to the inner side of the rim, and the sensor device is provided on the spoke. The sensor device includes an electrode configured to be capacitively coupleable to an object to be detected, and includes a controller configured to detect a change in capacitance of the electrode, and determine whether the object is in proximity to the rim or the spoke based on the change in the capacitance of the electrode. The change in the capacitance occurs in response to the object being in proximity to the rim or the spoke.
