Controllable tripout for an electrical circuit breaker
A controllable trip device includes a magnetic actuator, including a coupling member intended to be coupled to a switching mechanism of an electrical circuit breaker to cause the switching thereof and a coil configured to displace the coupling member towards a tripped position when it is supplied with a pulse of a current of intensity greater than a first predefined threshold for a duration greater than or equal to a predefined duration, a control device, configured to supply the coil, immediately on receipt of a control signal, with a series of pulses of duration equal to the predefined duration and of intensity greater than or equal to the first threshold and less than or equal to a second threshold equal at most to 120% of the first threshold.
Lockout device for switchgear
A safety lockout device for switchgear includes a movable member adapted to be moved from a first position to a second position. A switch is adapted to electrically isolate a motor in the switchgear and a blocking arm is coupled to a shaft of the motor. In the first position, the movable member engages the switch to close the electrical motor circuit and the blocking arm is free to rotate with the motor shaft. In the second position, the movable member moves away from the switch so that the switch is in an open circuit state disconnecting power to the motor and a portion of the movable member is moved to a position whereby the blocking arm engages the movable member to prevent rotation of the motor shaft and a change of state of the switchgear. The position of the movable member relative to the switch provides a visual indication of the operating state of the switchgear.
Systems and methods for restraining a movable switch blade of a disconnect switch
A restraint system is used to restrain a movable switch blade of a disconnect switch in order to prevent accidental closure of the switch blade. In this regard, the restraint system has a sheath that is positioned over an end of the switch blade, and the sheath is tethered to a support structure so that tension in the tether resists movement of the switch blade toward a conductive jaw. Thus, current is prevented from flowing through the disconnect switch until the sheath is manually removed from the switch blade.
Method of controlling an appliance door position switch for Sabbath mode operation
A position switch retention device for use with an appliance including a body defining a switch-receiving cavity open on at least a first end of the body, a cap extending outwardly from a second end of the body opposite the first end, and a first tab extending from a side of the body. The first tab defines a ramp extending away from the body to an edge directed toward and spaced from the cap.
OPERATION INPUT DEVICE
A operation input device includes a lever and a dial serving as movable operation parts that are moved by a user to be operated, a touch pad through which the user inputs a touch operation, and a braking mechanism for controlling movement of the lever and the dial. The dial is provided on top of the lever, and the touch pad is provided on the dial. The braking mechanism controls movement of the lever and the dial, that is, movement of the position of the touch pad, while a touch operation is performed on the touch pad.
Operation device
An operation device includes an operation plate, an electrode, a determination portion, an output portion, a dial, a dummy electrode, a for-dummy determination portion, and a disablement portion. The operation plate includes an operation surface that is contact-operated by an operator's fingertip. The determination portion determines whether the contact-operation is performed based on an amount of capacitance change between the fingertip and the electrode. The output portion outputs a predetermined command signal on the condition that the contact-operation is determined to be performed. When it is determined by the dummy electrode and the for-dummy determination portion that an operator's hand is placed at a position where a dial is operable, the disablement portion prohibits an output of the command signal or disables the outputted command signal.
ELECTRONIC SWITCH AND REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE INCLUDING ELECTRONIC SWITCH
An electronic switch includes a rubber sheet that includes a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a convex portion on the first surface. The convex portion of the rubber sheet includes a semispherical shape.
Flip Guard Safety Systems for Aircraft Switches
A flip guard safety system for preventing inadvertent actuation of an aircraft switch. The flip guard safety system includes a flip guard having a cover that pivots between a guarded positions in which the cover protects the aircraft switch against inadvertent actuation and an unguarded position in which the cover provides access to the aircraft switch. A flip guard safety has a gate that pivots between a closed position in which the gate retains the cover in the guarded position and an open position in which the gate does not retain the cover in the guarded position, such that the cover is pivotable from the guarded position to the unguarded position. The gate pivots from the closed position to the open position in a first direction and the cover pivots from the guarded position to the unguarded position a second direction that is opposite of the first direction.
Portable power tool with trigger switch, trigger release and lock-on mechanism combination
A power tool includes a housing, a motor enclosed within the housing, and a work element configured to be driven by the motor. A trigger is movably secured to the housing for controlling power to the motor. A locking assembly is provided that includes a lock-OFF mechanism configured to lock the trigger in the OFF position and a lock-ON mechanism configured to lock the trigger in the ON position.
