The to-be-tried-on apparel includes a measurement area, and the try-on assistant device includes a model suit, an airbag group, an inflating/deflating unit, and a control unit. The model suit includes a simulation part corresponding to the measurement area. The airbag group includes a plurality of airbags, where the airbags are disposed on the simulation part of the model suit. The inflating/deflating unit is configured to separately inflate or deflate the plurality of airbags. The control unit controls, according to an inflating/deflating parameter, the inflating/deflating unit to inflate or deflate some or all of the airbags, where the inflating/deflating parameter corresponds to size information of the measurement area of the to-be-tried-on apparel.

One or more additional fluid-expandable layers underlie the outer skin layer to establish a variable internal tissue depth further contributing to an overall outer body contour of the body suit. An exterior of the body suit is colored or colorable in blue or green to enable chroma key isolation of garment adorned over the suit. Sensors are arrayed over the exterior surface area of the suit for dimensional and pressure measurements, and rotational support structures and cooperating 3D scanners and track-based scanner movement enable 3D imaging of the modeled garment.

The system includes a scanner configured to generate a three-dimensional model of a clothing item positioned over at least a portion of the fit test fixture, and a controller. The controller is configured to cause an air compressor to inflate the first air bladder and the second air bladder, and store the three-dimensional model of the clothing item in a database. The three-dimensional model depicts the clothing item at least partially inhabited by the first air bladder and the second air bladder. A processor is configured to generate a rendering depicting the three-dimensional model of the clothing item on a three-dimensional model of the consumer.

A system includes a fit test fixture. A first air bladder is connected to the support structure, and a second air bladder is connected to the support structure. The system includes a scanner configured to generate a three-dimensional model of a clothing item positioned over at least a portion of the fit test fixture, and a controller. The controller is configured to cause an air compressor to inflate the first air bladder and the second air bladder, and store the three-dimensional model of the clothing item in a database. The three-dimensional model depicts the clothing item at least partially inhabited by the first air bladder and the second air bladder. A processor is configured to generate a rendering depicting the three-dimensional model of the clothing item on a three-dimensional model of the consumer.
