VARICELLA ZOSTER VIRUS FUSION PROTEIN AND IMMUNOGENIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME

The present invention relates to a Varicella zoster virus fusion protein and an immunogenic composition comprising same and, more specifically, to a fusion protein comprising the glycoprotein E (gE) of Varicella zoster virus (VZV) and a constant region of an immunoglobulin molecule, and an immunogenic composition comprising same. The present invention not only remarkably increases a Varicella zoster virus-specific cell-mediated immune response, but also exhibits the effect of rapidly and potently inducing an immune response and sustaining the immune response for a long period of time, compared to preexisting vaccines, thereby can be usefully used to prevent Varicella zoster-related diseases.

Disclosed herein are coronavirus Spike (S) proteins and nanoparticles comprising the same, which are suitable for use in vaccines. The nanoparticles present antigens from pathogens surrounded to and associated with a detergent core resulting in enhanced stability and good immunogenicity. Dosages, formulations, and methods for preparing the vaccines and nanoparticles are also disclosed.

STIMULI THAT HYPERACTIVATE RESIDENT DENDRITIC CELLS FOR CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY
20230076515 · 2023-03-09 ·

The present application is related to cancer immunotherapy, e.g. stimulation of T cell mediated anti-tumor therapy. Accordingly, described herein are methods of inducing or enhancing an adaptive immune response to a cancer in a subject and methods of treating cancer in a subject. In some embodiments, the methods hyperactivate dendritic cells (DCs), which induce T helper type I (TH1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses in the absence of TH2 immunity.

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF

A pharmaceutical composition comprising: i) a herpes gE protein, an active fragment of the protein, a variant of the protein, or a mixture of at least two of them; ii) an immunostimulatory composition comprising a saponin and a CpG oligodeoxynucleotide, or consisting of an adjuvant comprising a saponin and a CpG oligodeoxynucleotide. Use of the pharmaceutical composition in the preparation of a medicament for preventing and/or treating a varicella-zoster virus infection and/or a varicella-zoster virus mediated disease. The pharmaceutical composition achieves an unexpected technical effect and can mediate a stronger immune response.

The present disclosure provides a type A foot-and-mouth disease virus-like particle antigen assembled by VP2, VP3 and VP1 antigen proteins of an epidemic strain of type A foot-and-mouth disease virus. The type A foot-and-mouth disease virus VP2 antigen protein is encoded by a nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID No. 1 or its degenerate sequence, the type A foot-and-mouth disease virus VP3 antigen protein is encoded by a nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID No. 2 or its degenerate sequence, and the type A foot-and-mouth disease virus VP1 antigen protein is encoded by a nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID No. 3 or its degenerate sequence.

Horn fly protein as active antigen in anti-horn fly vaccine for protection of bovines against horn fly infestations

Antigenic polypeptides derived from a naturally occurring horn fly protein, and nucleic acid molecules encoding the polypeptides, are described. The polypeptides elicit an immune response which, in turn, produces detrimental effects in horn flies feeding on vaccinated cattle. Thus, the present disclosure provides a novel horn fly vaccine.

Immunogenic/therapeutic glycan compositions and uses thereof

The present disclosure encompasses immunogenic/therapeutic compositions including Globo series antigens (SSEA-4, Globo H or SSEA-3) glycoconjugates and therapeutic adjuvants (OBI-821 or OBI-834) as well as methods of making and using the same to treat proliferative diseases such as cancer. The therapeutic conjugates include an antigen linked to a carrier. In particular, the therapeutic conjugates include a SSEA-4, Globo H or SSEA-3 moiety and a KLH moiety subunit linked via a linker. The therapeutic compositions are in part envisaged to act as cancer vaccines (single valent, bi-valent or tri-valent vaccines) for boosting the body's natural ability to protect itself, through the immune system from dangers posed by damaged or abnormal cells such as cancer cells. Exemplary immune response can be characterized by reduction of the severity of disease, including but not limited to, prevention of disease, delay in onset of disease, decreased severity of symptoms, decreased morbidity and delayed mortality.
