GAS ANALYZER AND MEMBRANES THEREFOR
A gas analyzer and a method for performing mass spectrometry analysis includes a membrane configured to receive an input flow of carrier gas. The membrane defines a variable thickness region between first and second positions along an input face of the membrane and separates the analyte sample into an output flow of analyte molecules. A mass spectrometer is disposed downstream of the membrane and includes an input orifice for receiving the output flow. The mass spectrometer is configured to perform a response profile analysis of the analyte molecules in the sample analyte.
MASS SPECTROMETRY SYSTEM
A mass spectrometer system (10) is provided in which the voltage controller (12) can have separate first and second high-voltage control circuits (34, 40) which are physically disconnected from and at different ground planes to one another. Communication between the first and second high-voltage control circuits (34, 40) is enabled via an interface circuit (30) and one or more wireless, preferably radio-frequency, communicators (38, 44, 46, 48).
METHOD AND PORTABLE ION MOBILITY SPECTROMETER FOR THE DETECTION OF AN AEROSOL
A portable ion mobility spectrometry apparatus (1) for detecting an aerosol and a method for using the apparatus. The apparatus comprises an ion mobility spectrometer (3); a portable power source (5) carried by the apparatus for providing power to the apparatus (1); an inlet (7) for collecting a flow of air to be tested by the spectrometer (3); a heater (4) configured to heat the air to be tested to vapourise an aerosol carried by the air and a controller (2) configured to control the spectrometer (3) to obtain samples from the heated air, wherein the controller is configured to increase a heat output from the heater (4) for a selected time period before obtaining samples from the heated air.
In-vehicle biochemical sensors
The devices, systems, and methods described herein generally relate to chemical profiling of an occupant in a vehicle. The devices, systems and methods described herein can detect enclosure-related chemicals, the enclosure-related chemicals including biochemicals expelled by one or more occupants. The enclosure-related chemicals can then be associated to an associated occupant of the one or more occupants. A biological profile can then be created for the associated occupant, the biological profile comprising medical information and historical information related to the enclosure-related chemicals.

Low power mass analyzer and system integrating same for chemical analysis
A low power mass spectrometer (LPMS) includes an ionization source for generating an ionized sample beam; ion focusing optics for focusing the sample beam; and a static magnetic field region contained within an electric field-free drift region created between magnets acting as equipotential electrodes combined with a third equipotential surrounding electrode for receiving the focused sample beam and deflecting ions therein to different points on a detector array in accordance with an individual mass thereof. The LPMS operates at less than 1.2 Watts and has a physical footprint equal to or less than 12 inches at its largest length.
MASS SPECTROMETER
A power supply device includes a power supply circuit, a casing, a mold resin and a grounding member. The casing is conductive. At least part of a circuit portion of the power supply circuit is stored in the casing. A resin injector is formed in the casing. A mold resin is injected from the resin injector to fill the casing and enclose the circuit portion. The grounding member is conductive. The grounding member is arranged in the casing to shield the resin injector from the circuit portion while being in contact with the mold resin.
ENCLOSED DESORPTION ELECTROSPRAY IONIZATION PROBES AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
The invention generally relates to enclosed desorption electrospray ionization probes, systems, and methods. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a source of DESI-active spray, in which a distal portion of the source is enclosed within a transfer member such that the DESI-active spray is produced within the transfer member.
