There is provided an apparatus for attaching an item to a substrate, using a prong ring with a ring and two or more prongs. When attached, the prongs extends from the ring on a first side of the substrate through such substrate and being bent. A lower die is positioned to approach the first side of the substrate. An upper die is on a second side of the substrate. The substrate is placed in a manner substantially perpendicular to the attaching movement of the upper and lower dies and a first redirecting member for redirecting the prongs which are bent inwardly. The first redirecting member cooperates with an abutting member positioned along the approach of the prong ring towards the first side of the substrate for inhibiting movement of the prong ring towards the substrate while the first redirecting member is used.

A method of securing a shirt collar to a shirt and shirt collar kit structured and arranged to instantly transform a button-less dress-shirt collar into a button-down collar. Useful in situations where a quick dress up is required for work or social occasions, thereby eliminating the fly-away collar phenomenon that diminishes one's appearance, and make any dress shirt immediately presentable, with or without a necktie. A fastener connects two strings together, such as the drawstring of sweatpants or the two shoe lace strings ends of respective shoe lace strings in a pair of sneakers. The body of the fastener is made out of a material, such as highly dense polyurethane foam, that is strong, yet flexible, or of a rigid plastic, that is strong, yet flexible. The two strings to be fastened pass through one or more gripping and/or locking holes in the fastener body. When the shoelace is passed through the gripping and/or locking holes, the dense polyurethane foam grips the lace tightly. The free ends are pulled through one or more peripheral slits extending towards, but not all the way to, the gripping and/or locking holes and then bent against the upper outer surface of the disk and locked in place in the respective one or more peripheral locking slits.

This invention relates to a fastener assembly and garment comprising same having a first fastener tape and a second fastener tape, and a first edge and a second edge, the first edge having a row of cooperating fastener elements mounted thereon; wherein the second edge of each of the first and second fastener tapes is folded parallel to its row of cooperating fastener elements such that when the fastener is closed, and a meshed area of fastener elements from the first and second fastener tapes is formed, i) the second edges of each of the first and second fastener tapes overlap, ii) the second edge of the first fastener tape fully covers the meshed area of fastening elements, and iii) the overlap of the second edge of the first fastener tape by the second edge of the second fastener tape extends past the meshed area of fastening elements.

A button mounting device includes: a button mounting unit that comprises a first die holding the button main body and a second die holding the button mounting tool; an intermediate material formation unit that forms an intermediate material, which is to be interposed between the button main body and the cloth or between the button mounting tool and the cloth, by cutting a strip-shaped sheet material; and an intermediate material transfer unit that transfers the intermediate material formed by the intermediate material formation unit to the button mounting unit to supply the first die or the second die.

This invention relates to a fastener assembly and a garment comprising same, comprising a first fastener tape and a second fastener tapes having a row of cooperating fastener elements mounted thereon attached to first and second closing tapes, the first and second closing tapes folded parallel to the row of cooperating fastener elements such that when the fastener is closed, and a meshed area of fastener elements from the first and second fastener tapes is formed, i) the external edges of each of the first and second closing tapes overlap, ii) the external edge of the first closing tape fully covers the meshed area of fastening elements, and iii) the overlap of the external edge of the first closing tape by the external edge of the second closing tape extends past the meshed area of fastening elements.

A garment including a body having a first garment portion and a second garment portion, and a releasable fastener configured to releasably couple the first garment portion to the second garment portion. The garment further includes a covering flap movable between a covering position wherein the covering flap covers the releasable fastener and a retracted position wherein the covering flap does not cover the releasable fastener. The garment has a magnetic fastener system configured to selectively retain the covering flap in the covering position.

A method including accessing a support strip and placing a plurality of magnetizable backing members along the support strip. The method further includes, after the first placing step, placing a magnet on or adjacent to each backing member such that each magnet is magnetically coupled to an associated backing member to thereby position each magnet on the support strip. The method also includes placing the support strip on or in a garment.

A coat system including a protective coat and a throat tab coupled to or forming a part of the coat. The throat tab is movable between a closed position wherein the throat tab is positioned to generally cover a front of a throat of a wearer of the coat, and a retracted position wherein the throat tab is not positioned to generally cover the front of the throat of the wearer. The coat system further includes a non-magnetic fastener system configured to retain the throat tab in the closed position, and a magnetic fastener system configured to retain the throat tab in the retracted position.
