Platinum-indium cluster catalyst for fuel cell, method for preparing the same, and method for using the same
A method for preparing a platinum-indium cluster catalyst for a fuel cell, the method including steps of: obtaining a carbon powder, dispersing the carbon powder in a strong oxidizing solution, and performing high-temperature hydrothermal treatment to obtain an activated carbon powder; obtaining a mixed alcohol solution comprising a platinum precursor and an indium precursor; dispersing the activated carbon powder in the mixed alcohol solution, and heat treating the mixed alcohol solution to volatilize an alcohol solvent to obtain a mixed powder; and performing high-temperature treatment on the mixed powder under a mixed gas atmosphere of hydrogen and argon, to yield a platinum-indium cluster catalyst for a fuel cell.

Provided are a fuel cell and a fuel cell system capable of suppressing deterioration of the electrolyte membrane by iron-based foreign substances with a simple structure. The fuel cell includes: a MEGA and a nitrate compound, wherein the MEGA has an electrolyte membrane, an anode catalyst layer disposed on one surface of the electrolyte membrane, a cathode catalyst layer disposed on the other surface of the electrolyte membrane, an anode gas diffusion layer disposed on a surface of the anode catalyst layer which is opposite to a surface of the anode catalyst layer on the electrolyte membrane side, and a cathode gas diffusion layer disposed on a surface of the cathode catalyst layer which is opposite to a surface of the cathode catalyst layer on the electrolyte membrane side, and wherein the nitrate compound is disposed in the MEGA.

A redox flow battery system includes a battery cell that performs charge-discharge by supplying an electrolyte; a monitor cell to which the electrolyte is supplied; a voltmeter that measures an open circuit voltage of the monitor cell; a thermometer that measures a liquid temperature of the electrolyte; and a controller that controls the charge-discharge of the battery cell based on the open circuit voltage, and the controller corrects the open circuit voltage in accordance with the liquid temperature.

METAL-AIR CELL WITH PERFORMANCE ENHANCING ADDITIVE
Systems and methods drawn to an electrochemical cell comprising a low temperature ionic liquid comprising positive ions and negative ions and a performance enhancing additive added to the low temperature ionic liquid. The additive dissolves in the ionic liquid to form cations, which are coordinated with one or more negative ions forming ion complexes. The electrochemical cell also includes an air electrode configured to absorb and reduce oxygen. The ion complexes improve oxygen reduction thermodynamics and/or kinetics relative to the ionic liquid without the additive.

An apparatus for dilution of hydrogen concentration in a fuel cell exhaust system is provided. The apparatus includes a fuel cell exhaust line configured for receiving a flow of gas from a connected fuel cell and including a flow of hydrogen gas. The apparatus further includes a mixing chamber disposed to receive the flow of hydrogen gas and configured for mixing a flow of air with the flow of hydrogen gas. The mixing chamber includes a mixing mesh including at least one tab feature configured for altering a flow direction of at least a portion of one of the flow of hydrogen gas and for creating a turbulent flow region within the mixing chamber.

An apparatus for dilution of hydrogen concentration in a fuel cell exhaust system is provided. The apparatus includes a fuel cell exhaust line configured for receiving a flow of gas from a connected fuel cell and including a flow of hydrogen gas. The apparatus further includes a mixing chamber disposed to receive the flow of hydrogen gas and configured for mixing a flow of air with the flow of hydrogen gas. The mixing chamber includes a mixing mesh including at least one tab feature configured for altering a flow direction of at least a portion of one of the flow of hydrogen gas and for creating a turbulent flow region within the mixing chamber.
