Protective unit for a battery module of a high-voltage battery, battery module, and high-voltage battery
A protective unit is provided for a battery module of a high-voltage battery of a motor vehicle for electrically insulating cell housings of prismatic battery cells of the battery module, which battery cells are stacked to form a cell stack. A cell-contacting system of the battery module interconnects the battery cells by electrically connecting cell terminals of the battery cells. The protective unit includes a pre-formed intermediate layer made of an electrically insulating material, which intermediate layer can be applied to a side of the cell stack having the cell terminals and can be arranged between the side of the cell stack having the cell terminals and the cell-contacting system. The intermediate layer has a number of cut-outs which corresponds to the number of cells terminals. The cut-outs are provided for the feeding through of the cell terminals when the intermediate layer is applied to the cell stack.
Apparatus having connection module for use with electrical module
An apparatus is for use with an electrical module. The apparatus includes a connection module having a connection housing enclosing a connection electrical circuit. A connection registration feature is configured to be in registered alignment with a registration feature of the electrical module. A connection circuit terminal is electrically connected to the connection electrical circuit. A connection magnet is configured to be magnetically attracted to (or magnetically repelled from) a magnet of the electrical module.
Surgical instrument battery pack with voltage polling
A method of operating a medical device comprises electrically connecting a power device to the medical device. The method further comprises sensing at least one characteristic of one of the medical device with the power device. The method further comprises adjusting or maintaining one or more characteristics of an electrical connection feature the power device according to the at least one observed characteristic such that the electrical connection features of the power device and medical device are operationally compatible, and operating the power device according to an operational profile associated with the medical device.
Battery Reversed Polarity Protection
The present disclosure is directed to a battery holder configured to receive a plurality of batteries and prevent an improper electrical connection that results from an incorrect arrangement of the plurality of batteries. In an aspect of the present disclosure, one or more tabs is included on a battery cover to prevent the improper electrical connection of one or more batteries that have been incorrectly inserted and arranged in a battery compartment of the battery holder. The one or more tabs of the present disclosure prevent coupling of the batteries, and thus prevent any current from being drawn from the batteries, when the batteries have been incorrectly arranged within the battery compartment. Furthermore, the one or more tabs do not interfere with the proper electrical connection that results from a correct arrangement of the plurality of batteries within the battery compartment.
Protection apparatus of battery pack, method of manufacturing the protection apparatus, and battery pack including the protection apparatus
A protection apparatus that is disposed adjacent a first side of a bare cell of a battery having at least one electrode. The protection apparatus comprises a first and a second lead plates that are adapted to be connected to the at least one electrode of the bare cell and a pad unit comprising a plurality of conductive pads that are adapted so that external devices are coupled to the battery via the conductive pads of the pad unit. The protection apparatus also comprises a device unit that includes electrical components that provide protection to the bare cell of the battery; wiring that interconnects the first and second lead plates, the pad unit and the device unit; and an insulator that encapsulates at least a portion of the first and second lead plates, the pad unit, the device unit and the wiring.
