Cathode composition including a core cathode body composed of nickel oxide crystallite particles and a surface cathode coating layer contacting and at least partially surrounding an outer surface of the core cathode body. The surface cathode coating layer includes one or more of a transition metal or post-transition metal oxide or fluoride and one or more of lanthanide row atoms having a concentration in a range from about 0.1 to 10 mol %, has a thickness in a range from about 0.5 to 30 nm, and has an amorphous, polycrystalline or composite amorphous/polycrystalline atomic structure. Method of manufacture including preparing a cathode composition includes forming a core cathode body composed of nickel oxide crystallite particles, and, forming by atomic layer deposition, a surface cathode coating layer contacting and at least partially surrounding an outer surface of the core cathode body.
Production logging instrument
A logging system and method for operating a logging system are typically used in a wellbore. The logging system may include a logging instrument including a rechargeable energy storage and logging electronics, and a cable configured to trickle charge the rechargeable energy storage. The rechargeable energy storage may include an ultracapacitor. The rechargeable energy storage may be trickle charged through the cable from a remote power source.
Energy storage system having arc monitoring function
Disclosed is an energy storage system having an arc monitoring function. The system includes: an outer casing storing an energy storage unit and a PCS therein; a sound sensor installed outside the outer casing to detect sound generated from an inside of the outer casing; a temperature and humidity sensor installed outside the outer casing to detect humidity and temperature of the outer casing; and an arc detection device analyzing a frequency of a sound generated in the energy storage unit and the PCS based on correlation between temperature and humidity to detect an arc signal included in the sound and monitoring an arc based on the detected arc signal.
BATTERY PACK COMPRISING EXTINGUISHMENT UNIT
A battery pack includes at least one battery module arranged in one direction and having a cell assembly including a plurality of secondary batteries arranged in one direction; and a fire extinguishing unit having a fire extinguishing tank configured to contain a fire extinguishing agent therein, a pipe connected to the fire extinguishing tank to supply the fire extinguishing agent from the tire extinguishing tank to the at least one battery module, and a fire extinguishing valve configured so that, when an internal gas of the battery module is heated over a predetermined temperature, an inner configuration of the fire extinguishing valve is partially deformed by the heated internal gas to open an output hole thereof so as to supply the fire extinguishing agent from the fire extinguishing tank into the battery module.
BATTERY MODULE COMPRISING CONSTANT-FORCE SPRING AND BATTERY PACK COMPRISING SAME
A battery module including a constant force spring capable of maintaining surface pressure of battery cells constant even if a swelling phenomenon occurs in the battery cells accommodated in the battery module, and a battery pack including the battery module are provided.
Overcharge protection systems for prismatic lithium ion battery cells with biased packaging
A prismatic lithium ion battery cell includes a packaging having a cover. A power assembly disposed within the packaging has a first (e.g., negative) side and a second (e.g., positive) side. A terminal pad is electrically coupled to the first side, while the cover is electrically coupled to the second side, of the power assembly. The cover includes a spiral disk feature disposed below the terminal pad and a reversal disk disposed below the spiral disk feature. The reversal disk is configured to deflect upwards to displace the spiral disk feature to contact the terminal pad in response to a pressure within the packaging being greater than a first predefined pressure threshold, forming an external short-circuit between the first and second sides of the power assembly. Subsequently, a portion of the power assembly fails in response to the external short-circuit and interrupts current flow within the power assembly.
Electrode, secondary battery, battery pack, vehicle and stationary power source
An electrode comprises a current collector; and an active material-containing layer having active materials on the current collector. The active material-containing layer has a first surface contacting the current collector and a second surface which is opposite side of the first surface. At least one part of the second surface is covered by a compound containing Zn. When an image of the second surface is taken by Scanning Electron Microscope, the image is divided into 100 blocks, a ratio of existence of blocks having hexagonal platelet shaped compound containing Zn to the 100 blocks is calculated, and the ratio of existence of blocks is calculated with respect to 10 images, an average of the ratio of existence of blocks with respect to the 10 images is 20% or less (including 0).
Stand-alone buoy with seawater battery
The present disclosure relates to a stand-alone buoy with a seawater battery, which includes a main body formed to have a predetermined buoyancy so as to float on seawater and provided with a seawater space therein and an inlet formed to introduce the seawater into the seawater space, a position notification part installed on the main body and configured to notify a user of a position of the main body, a solar cell part installed on the main body and configured to generate electricity using sunlight, and a seawater battery unit installed in the seawater space to be submerged in the seawater introduced into the seawater space and configured to react with the seawater to store the electricity provided from the solar cell part and to provide the stored electricity to the position notification part so as to operate the position notification part.
SECONDARY BATTERY
A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material layer. The positive electrode active material layer includes a lithium-nickel composite oxide of a layered rock-salt type.
ENERGY STORAGE APPARATUS
An energy storage apparatus includes a plurality of energy storage devices each of which includes a case and an outer case that accommodates the plurality of energy storage devices. The outer case has a ventilation chamber and an opening. An exhaust port that guides gas discharged from the case of at least one energy storage device in the plurality of energy storage devices to an inside of the ventilation chamber and a valve member that closes the exhaust port are disposed in the ventilation chamber. The opening guides the gas discharged from the exhaust port from the inside of the ventilation chamber to an outside of the outer case. The opening is formed lower than the exhaust port in the vertical direction.
