FUEL CELL SYSTEM
A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell unit having an air inlet, a fuel inlet and an electrical energy outlet and a fuel cell exhaust outlet and a turbo-compressor unit to convert air from an air supply to compressed inlet air for the fuel cell unit. The turbo-compressor unit comprising a turbine and a compressor connected to a common rotatable shaft. The system also includes means for obtaining conditioned air exhausted from an enclosed space and directing the conditioned exhaust air to the turbine of turbo-compressor unit such that the conditioned exhaust air is expanded by the turbine causing rotation of the shaft and corresponding rotation of the compressor, means for providing air from the air supply to the compressor to be compressed and output from the compressor unit and provided as compressed inlet air to the air inlet of the fuel cell unit.
METHOD FOR DEALING WITH FAULT IN FUEL CELL SYSTEM
A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack, a first cooling line having first cooling water that passes via the fuel cell stack and circulates therein, a first radiator that cools the first cooling water, an air conditioning system that forms a heating loop with a first cooling line, a first cooling fan that blows exterior air to the first radiator, a first pump that pumps the first cooling water, a valve that switches a flow path of the first cooling water to the fuel cell stack or the first radiator, and a controller connected to the first cooling fan, the first pump, and the valve, and configured to detect a failure of the valve, control RPMs of the first pump and the first cooling fan to respective maximum levels, and control an RPM of a blower of the air conditioning system to a maximum level.

A method for operating a fuel cell assembly, the fuel cell assembly including a fuel cell stack having a solid oxide fuel cell, the solid oxide fuel cell having an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte, the method including: determining a temperature setpoint for the fuel cell stack, for output products of the fuel cell stack, or both; and controlling a volume of oxidant provided to the anode in response to the determined temperature setpoint to control a temperature of the fuel cell stack, a temperature of the output products of the fuel cell stack, or both.
SYSTEMS AND METHOD OF OPERATING A FUEL CELL ASSEMBLY
A method for operating a propulsion system for an aircraft, the propulsion system including a gas turbine engine and a fuel cell assembly, the fuel cell assembly including a fuel cell stack having a fuel cell defining an outlet positioned to remove output products from the fuel cell during operation, the method including: executing a startup sequence for the fuel cell assembly, wherein executing the startup sequence for the fuel cell assembly includes initiating the startup sequence for the fuel cell assembly; executing a startup sequence for the gas turbine engine, wherein executing the startup sequence for the gas turbine engine comprises initiating the startup sequence for the gas turbine engine subsequent to initiating the startup sequence for the fuel cell assembly; and operating the fuel cell assembly to provide output products to a combustion section of the gas turbine engine.
COOLING OF A FUEL CELL ASSEMBLY
A method for operating a propulsion system for an aircraft, the propulsion system including a gas turbine engine and a fuel cell assembly, the fuel cell assembly including a fuel cell stack having a solid oxide fuel cell defining an outlet positioned to remove output products from the solid oxide fuel cell during operation, the method including: operating the fuel cell assembly to provide output products to a combustor of a combustion section of the gas turbine engine; and operating the fuel cell assembly, the gas turbine engine, or both such that a pressure within an anode of the solid oxide fuel cell is less than a pressure within a cathode of the solid oxide fuel cell, is less than a pressure within a combustion chamber of the gas turbine engine, or both while operating the gas turbine engine.
SYSTEMS AND METHOD OF OPERATING A FUEL CELL ASSEMBLY
A method for operating a propulsion system for an aircraft, the propulsion system including a gas turbine engine and a fuel cell assembly, the fuel cell assembly comprising a fuel cell stack having a fuel cell defining an outlet positioned to remove output products from the fuel cell during operation, the method including: executing a startup sequence for the gas turbine engine, wherein executing the startup sequence comprises initiating the startup sequence for the gas turbine engine; executing a startup sequence for the fuel cell assembly concurrently with, or subsequent to, initiating the startup sequence for the gas turbine engine; and operating the fuel cell assembly to provide output products to a combustion section of the gas turbine engine.
Fuel cell vehicle
A fuel cell vehicle includes a travel prohibition control unit. In the case where a lid sensor detects an open state of a lid, the travel prohibition control unit performs travel prohibition control to prohibit travel of the fuel cell vehicle. In the case where the number of shift control operations has reached a release number within release time, the travel prohibition control unit releases the travel prohibition control, and in the case where the number of shift control operations has not reached the release number within the release time, the travel prohibition control unit continues the travel prohibition control. The release number is two or more.

The present disclosure relates to a polymer electrolyte membrane for medium and high temperature, a preparation method thereof and a high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell including the same, more particularly to a technology of preparing a composite membrane including an inorganic phosphate nanofiber incorporated into a phosphoric acid-doped polybenzimidazole (PBI) polymer membrane by adding an inorganic precursor capable of forming a nanofiber in a phosphoric acid solution when preparing phosphoric acid-doped polybenzimidazole and using the same as a high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane which is thermally stable even at high temperatures of 200-300° C. without degradation of phosphoric acid and has high ion conductivity.

A vehicle includes: a power storage device; a rotary electric machine; a power generation device; a heat radiation unit configured to radiate exhaust heat from the rotary electric machine and the power generation device; and a control device configured to control power generation by the power generation device so as to increase an amount of power generated by the power generation device when vehicle required power due to drive of the vehicle is smaller than predetermined power compared to when the vehicle required power is larger than the predetermined power. An amount of power generated by the rotary electric machine and the power generation device is equal to or less than allowable generated electric power calculated from the amount of heat that is able to radiated by the heat radiation unit.
Fuel cell control system for vehicles
A vehicle includes a fuel cell having an air inlet port and an air outlet port and an air supply system having a compressor connected in fluid communication with the inlet port and a throttle valve connected in fluid communication with the outlet port. A controller is programmed to change a position of the throttle valve based on a target mass air flow, a measured mass air flow, a measured pressure, and the position of the throttle valve.
