Twist for connecting orthogonal waveguides in a single housing structure
A twist for coupling radiation between orthogonal waveguides is provided. The twist includes at least three cavities opening from at least one of a first X1-Y1 surface and a second X2-Y2 surface of a metal block. A first cavity has a first opening in a first Y-Z plane and a second opening in a second Y-Z plane offset from the first Y-Z plane by a first length. A second cavity shares the second opening with the first cavity and has a third opening in a third Y-Z plane offset from the second Y-Z plane by a second length and has at least two heights and at least two widths. A last cavity shares a next-to-last opening in a next-to-last Y-Z plane with a next-to-last cavity. The last cavity has a last opening in a last Y-Z plane offset from the next-to-last Y-Z plane by a last length.
2-bit phase quantization waveguide
A waveguide includes a first double-ridge waveguide, a second double-ridge waveguide, and a polarization rotator. The first double-ridge waveguide provides a phase of an input electrical field rotated 0° or 90°. The second double-ridge outputs an electric field with a polarization that is perpendicular to a first polarization of the input electrical field. The polarization rotator is mounted between the first double-ridge waveguide and the second double-ridge waveguide and includes a frame, a dielectric layer, a first conducting pattern layer forming a first conductor and a second conductor, a first switch connected between the first conductor and the second conductor, a second conducting pattern layer forming a third conductor and a fourth conductor, and a second switch connected between the third conductor and the fourth conductor. Wherein a phase rotation of 90° or −90° is provided by the polarization rotator based on a state of the first and second switch.
2-bit phase quantization waveguide
A waveguide includes a first double-ridge waveguide, a second double-ridge waveguide, and a polarization rotator. The first double-ridge waveguide provides a phase of an input electrical field rotated 0° or 90°. The second double-ridge outputs an electric field with a polarization that is perpendicular to a first polarization of the input electrical field. The polarization rotator is mounted between the first double-ridge waveguide and the second double-ridge waveguide and includes a frame, a dielectric layer, a first conducting pattern layer forming a first conductor and a second conductor, a first switch connected between the first conductor and the second conductor, a second conducting pattern layer forming a third conductor and a fourth conductor, and a second switch connected between the third conductor and the fourth conductor. Wherein a phase rotation of 90° or −90° is provided by the polarization rotator based on a state of the first and second switch.
Tunable microwave system
A tunable microwave system includes at least two elements, each element being chosen from a propagating guide, an evanescent guide, a resonator, and at least one coupling device arranged between the two elements and configured to couple the two elements to each other, the coupling device having a holder having an aperture and having at least one elongate element the shape of which is elongate in a polarization direction contained in a plane of the aperture, the elongate element being securely fastened to the perimeter of the aperture at at least one end, the coupling device being configured to be rotatable about an axis substantially perpendicular to the plane of the aperture so as to modify a value of the polarization direction and so that the coupling between the two elements is dependent on the value of the polarization direction.

Dual-band waveguide feed network
A feed network is provided that includes a transmit section, a body section coupled to the transmit section, and a receive section coupled to the body section. The transmit section and the body section form a transmitter unit coupled to a first section of a core waveguide, wherein the first section of the core waveguide is a square waveguide. The body section and the receive section form a receiver unit coupled to a second section of the core waveguide, wherein the second section of the core waveguide is a circular waveguide.
Dual-band waveguide feed network
A feed network is provided that includes a transmit section, a body section coupled to the transmit section, and a receive section coupled to the body section. The transmit section and the body section form a transmitter unit coupled to a first section of a core waveguide, wherein the first section of the core waveguide is a square waveguide. The body section and the receive section form a receiver unit coupled to a second section of the core waveguide, wherein the second section of the core waveguide is a circular waveguide.

Radio-frequency component including several waveguide devices, for example antennas or polarizers, arranged in an array for transmitting and/or receiving electromagnetic signals. The radio-frequency component includes several ridges and each waveguide device includes: at least one inner wall; an upstream opening in the direction of propagation of the signals during emission; and a downstream opening in the direction of propagation of the emitting signals, linked to the upstream opening so that the emitting signals are transmitted from the upstream opening to the downstream opening. The arrangement of the ridges in the openings upstream of the radiofrequency component may be different from the arrangement of the ridges in the openings downstream of the radio-frequency component. The arrangement of ridges in the downstream openings of each waveguide device includes no more and no less than three ridges.

The waveguide connector assembly includes a waveguide connector having a first end, a second end, and a body having an interior surface and an exterior surface, the waveguide connector being configured to receive a waveguide in a first orientation or a second orientation at the first end, the second orientation being a rotation of the waveguide from the first orientation by either 45 degrees or 90 degrees to change polarizations. The waveguide connector assembly includes a movable sleeve having a first end, a second end, a body, and an engaging surface, the movable sleeve being configured to slide axially along the exterior surface of the waveguide connector, the engaging surface being configured to prevent axial movement of the waveguide when the movable sleeve is in an engaged position.
