Gel formulations for guiding radiotherapy

The present invention describes an X-ray contrast composition for local administration, wherein the X-ray contrast composition exhibits contrast properties and wherein at least 60% of an administrated amount of said X-ray contrast composition remains more than 24 hours within 10 cm from an injection point when the X-ray contrast composition is administrated to a human or animal body.

PER-ORAL NEGATIVE CONTRAST AGENT FOR ABDOMINAL CT

An edible negative contrast agent for CT imaging of the gastrointestinal tract intended for oral intake. The contrast agent is a fluid, aqueous foam displaying a CT density contrast value in the range 300 to 800 HU and having a consistency of 7 to 12 cm as measured with Bostwick consistometer. The contrast agent comprises an aqueous continuous liquid phase having a pH of 6.5 to 8.0 and gas bubbles dispersed in the continuous aqueous liquid phase. The aqueous continuous liquid phase comprises a surfactant, the surfactant being a protein, a hydrocolloid acting as foam stabilizer, a buffering agent, and water.

SOLVENT-FREE GADOLINIUM CONTRAST AGENTS

Disclosed herein are complexes of gadolinium metal, ligand and meglumine that are substantially free of non-aqueous solvents. In particular, solvent-free complexes of 1) gadopentetate dimeglumine and 2) gadoterate meglumine are disclosed and methods of their preparation are disclosed. In addition, methods are disclosed for purifying reactants, monitoring and controlling pH, quantifying the free gadolinium content, quantifying the concentration of gadolinium-ligand complex in aqueous solution, and procedures for producing a drug product in one step. The one step process eliminates the need to dry the gadolinium-ligand complex, which is typically highly hygroscopic. The one step process includes purification steps that do not require the use of non-aqueous solvents.

AZA-CRYPTOPHANES, PROCESSES FOR PREPARATION THEREOF, AND THEIR USES

The present invention concerns aza-cryptophanes, processes for preparation thereof, and their uses, in particular as in vivo diagnostic tools when complexing a hyperpolarized noble element, or in nanoemulsions.

Use of Surfactants to Extract a Platinum Group Metal or Gold from Organic Compositions

The present invention is in the field of surfactants to extract a platinum group metal or gold, in particular palladium, from organic compositions. In particular, the invention concerns the use of surfactants to back-extract a platinum group metal or gold, in particular palladium, from organic compositions further comprising an extractant of said platinum group metal or gold, in particular palladium from an aqueous solution.

Dendri-TAC and their use as theranostics

The present invention relates to novel amphiphilic dendrimers, hereafter denoted Dendri-TAC. The present invention also relates to perfluorocarbon nanoemulsions stabilized by these amphiphilic dendrimers and their uses for in vivo diagnostic and/or for therapy, notably as theranostic tools, for detection and/or treatment of cancer.

FERROMAGNETIC PARTICLES AS ULTRA-SENSITIVE NON-LINEAR RESPONSE LABELS FOR MAGNETIC PARTICLES IMAGING (MPI) AND SENSING APPLICATIONS

A significant enhancement of detection capabilities of the room temperature MPQ is seen using optical lithography-defined, ferromagnetic iron-nickel alloy microdisks. Irreversible transitions between strongly non-collinear (vortex) and a collinear single domain states, driven by an ac magnetic field, translate into a nonlinear magnetic response that enables ultrasensitive detection of material at relatively small magnetic fields.

Described herein are hybrid nanoparticles that are exosomes loaded with one or more nanoparticle dendrimers. Also included are pharmaceutical compositions including the hybrid nanoparticles and methods of making the hybrid nanoparticles. Also described is a method of treating a human subject by administering to the human subject the above-described hybrid nanoparticles.

Bionanofluid for use as a contrast, imaging, disinfecting and/or therapeutic agent

A bionanofluid includes a carbon-based nanomaterial substantially mono-dispersed in a fluid. The carbon-based nanomaterial is surface modified with a polar group when the fluid is polar or with a non-polar group when the fluid is non-polar, and functionalized with a biological targeting moiety to allow specific association of the carbon-based nanomaterial to a targeted entity. A hybrid bionanofluid includes the bionanofluid, with the carbon-based nanomaterial further modified with a hybrid nanoparticle which includes an alloy, transition metal, semi-conductor, semi-metal or polymer based nanoparticle with biological targeting moiety. A hydrogel, foam, cream, spray or dried product includes the bionanofluid or hybrid bionanofluid. The bionanofluid or hybrid bionanofluid are useful in multimodal imaging (photo-luminescence, luminescence, photo-acoustic, MRI, ultrasound) and/or cellular targeting.
