Antenna device and wireless communication device
An antenna device includes a feed coil and a sheet conductor. The feed coil includes a magnetic core and a coil-shaped conductor, which is provided around the magnetic core. An RFIC is connected to the feed coil. The sheet conductor has a larger area than the feed coil. A slit that extends from a portion of the edge of the sheet conductor toward the inner side of the sheet conductor is provided in the sheet conductor. The feed coil is arranged such that the direction of the axis around which the feed coil is disposed is parallel or substantially parallel to the directions in which the sheet conductor extends. The feed coil is arranged such that the feed coil is close to the slit and one of coil openings at the ends of the feed coil faces the slit.
Frequency agile antenna
Multiple frequency agile antenna structures are described. Each of the structures allows for tuning the antenna by changing its shape geometry (without changing the overall length of the antenna) and altering the frequency characteristics using variable capacitors. This is done by allowing control of the resonant frequency of the antenna with one main tunable capacitor and for independently varying the frequency and bandwidth of the antenna structure with the use of additional tunable capacitors embedded in the antenna structure.
Resonant bezel antenna
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a wearable communication apparatus for wireless communication. The wearable communication apparatus includes communication circuitry, a bezel, and a base. The bezel and the base are conductive. The bezel and the base form at least a part of a housing structure supporting the communication circuitry. The base is electrically connected to the bezel. The communication circuitry is electrically connected to the bezel. The bezel is configured to function as a part of a slot antenna. The communication circuitry is configured to send a first communication signal to the bezel such that the bezel transmits the first communication signal over the air. The bezel is further configured to receive, over the air, a second communication signal and direct the second communication signal to the communication circuitry.

Electronic device with peripheral hybrid antenna
An electronic device may have wireless circuitry with antennas. An antenna resonating element arm for an antenna may be formed from peripheral conductive structures running along the edges of a device housing. Elongated conductive members may longitudinally divide openings between the peripheral conductive housing structures and the ground. The elongated conductive members may extend from an internal ground to outer ends of the elongated conductive members that are located adjacent to the gaps. Transmission lines may extend along the elongated conductive members to antenna feeds at the outer ends. The elongated conductive members may form open slots that serve as slot antenna resonating elements for the antenna.
Methods and systems for synthesis of a waveguide array antenna
A method may involve receiving one or more criteria for a waveguide array antenna. The waveguide array antenna includes a plurality of waveguides. The plurality of waveguides may include a plurality of radiation elements. The method may also involve determining a dataset configured to associate radiation characteristics of a given radiation element with given configuration parameters including a given resonance length a given rotation angle of the given radiation element. The method also involves generating configuration parameters for the plurality of radiation elements based on the dataset. The configuration parameters may cause the waveguide array antenna to be associated with the one or more criteria. The method may also involve providing a request for fabrication of the waveguide array antenna to have the plurality of radiation elements configured according to the configuration parameters.
Tuning Circuits for Hybrid Electronic Device Antennas
An electronic device may have hybrid antennas that include slot antenna resonating elements formed from slots in a ground plane and planar inverted-F antenna resonating elements. The planar inverted-F antenna resonating elements may each have a planar metal member that overlaps one of the slots. A return path and feed may be coupled in parallel between the planar metal member and the ground plane. Adjustable circuits such as tunable inductors may be used to tune the hybrid antennas. Adjustable circuits may bridge the slots in hybrid antennas and may be included in return paths that are coupled between the planar metal members of the planar inverted-F antenna resonating elements and the ground plane. A slot may be selectively divided to from two slots using switching circuitry.

Adjustable antenna apparatus and methods
An adjustable monopole antenna apparatus and methods. In one embodiment, the antenna apparatus is intended for mobile terminals. In an exemplary implementation, there is an adjusting point is provided from which a conductor is branched to an adjusting circuit. The adjusting circuit comprises a switch and alternative reactive elements connected to ground, selectable by the switch. When a reactive element is changed, the electric length and resonance frequency of the radiator change, and the corresponding operating band shifts. If the antenna is configured as a dual-band antenna, the above-mentioned operating band is the lower band. One or more higher operating bands are based e.g. on radiating slots implemented by the same radiator conductor. The operating band of the exemplary embodiment of the antenna below the frequency 1 GHz can be shifted in a wider range than in the corresponding known antennas.
