Base station antennas with lenses for reducing upwardly-directed radiation
A base station antenna includes a radiating element that extends forwardly from a backplane and that is configured to transmit and receive signals in the 5.15-5.25 GHz frequency band and a radio frequency lens that is mounted forwardly of the radiating element. The RF lens is configured to re-direct a portion of an RF signal emitted by the radiating element downwardly so that a first peak emission of RF energy through a combination of the radiating element and the RF lens at elevation angles that are greater than 30 from a boresight pointing direction of the radiating element is less than a second peak emission of RF energy through the combination of the radiating element and the RF lens at elevation angles that are less than 30 from the boresight pointing direction of the radiating element.
VEHICULAR RADAR ASSEMBLY
An assembly for a detection system for a vehicle in an environment has a radar sensor positioned around a central boresight axis. The radar sensor includes an RF board with at least one antenna and a support bracket configured to secure the detection system to the vehicle. The support bracket has sloped walls forming a radiation aperture between the RF board and the environment. The sloped walls have distal ends distal to the radar sensor. A plurality of sloped flaps extend from the distal ends and slope inwardly from the distal ends towards the boresight axis to intercept radiation within the radiation aperture.
Antenna element and antenna system
An antenna element for receiving and/or emitting electromagnetic waves is described. Said antenna element comprises a conductive portion made of a conductive material and a resistive portion made of a resistive material. Said conductive and resistive portions are directly adjacent to each other along at least 50% of at least one outer edge of the conductive portion wherein said antenna element is a tapered slotline antenna element. Further, an antenna system is described.
RADIO WAVE ABSORBER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF RADIO WAVE ABSORBER
Provided is a radio wave absorber including: a support; a first radio wave absorption layer having a flat plate shape that is disposed on a surface of the support and includes a radio wave absorption material and a binder; and second radio wave absorption layers that are erected on a surface of the first radio wave absorption layer, include a radio wave absorption material and a binder, and are conical protrusions having bottom surfaces of which outer peripheral portions are in contact with each other, in which a distance between apexes of the conical protrusions adjacent to each other is 0.5 mm to .sup.a mm, in a case where a wavelength of a radio wave to be absorbed is set as .sup.a mm, and a manufacturing method of a radio wave absorber.
Method of producing an electromagnetic (EM) probe
An electromagnetic (EM) probe for monitoring one or more biological tissues. The EM probe comprises a cup shaped cavity having an opening and an interior volume, a circumferential flange formed substantially around the cup shaped cavity, in proximity to the opening, at least one layer of a material, for absorbing electromagnetic radiation, applied over at least one of a portion of the circumferential flange and a portion of the outer surface of the cup shaped cavity, and at least one EM radiation element which performs at least one of emitting and capturing EM radiation via the interior volume.
Wireless device
A wireless device according to one aspect of the present invention includes an antenna, a focuser, and an absorber. The focuser includes a first and a second region. One of the regions transmits radio waves, and the other blocks them or changes their phase. In a plan view from the antenna, the shape of the first region is a circle and the shape of the second region is an annular ring with an inner diameter equal to the diameter of the first region. The antenna is on the center axis of the circle. A part of the absorber is present between a first plane where the antenna is present and a second plane on which the second region is present. The absorber is present at a position away from the antenna by the outer circumference of the annular ring or longer in a direction perpendicular to the axis.
Antenna apparatus
An antenna apparatus has a dielectric substrate and conductors. The antenna apparatus includes an antenna element which is arranged on a main surface of the dielectric substrate and has directivity ahead of the main surface, and a directional characteristic control member which includes a sidewall part which projects ahead of the main surface on at least one side of directivity of the antenna element with respect to the antenna element, and a roof part which projects in a direction of the antenna element from the sidewall part at a predetermined angle of more than 70 and less than 120 with respect to the sidewall part so that orthogonal projection to the main surface does not reach the antenna element, to reflect or absorb radio waves.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A communication device includes a first substrate including antennas including a first antenna and a second antenna, and a battery including a principal surface and being used as a power source of a circuit connected to the antennas. The battery, when viewed in a direction perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the principal surface of the battery, is disposed between the first antenna and the second antenna, and a portion or all of the first antenna and the second antenna overlap with the battery, when viewed in a direction in parallel or substantially parallel to the principal surface of the battery.
Compact antenna range reflector with reduced edge diffraction
A reflector for deflecting electromagnetic waves is provided. Said reflector comprises a resistive material along its edges in a specific pattern, wherein the resistive material has a resistance per square meter being higher than the resistance per square meter of the material of the reflector in order to attenuate and/or absorb electromagnetic energy of the electromagnetic waves.
Antenna component and communication device
An antenna component is provided. An orthographic projection of auxiliary antennas on a clearance area is entirely located in, partly located in, or close to a radiation-sensitive area where a specific absorption ratio (SAR) value of a frequency band needs to be reduced, so that a signal emitted from the radiation-sensitive area where the SAR value of the frequency band needs to be reduced on a primary antenna may be absorbed by the auxiliary antennas, and the auxiliary antennas generate secondary radiation.
