Methods, systems, and devices are described that include one or more septum features to improve performance of a waveguide device. In particular, the septum features may be utilized within a polarizer section of a polarizer device such as a septum polarizers. The septum feature(s) may be a ridge. When a plurality of septum features are employed, the location, size, shape and spacing may vary according to a particular design.

Method and apparatus of maintaining constant antenna resonant frequency and impedance match in the presence of environmental changes and head/hand effect using variable reactance antenna aperture tuners

The present disclosure generally relates to any device capable of wireless communication, such as a mobile telephone or wearable device, having one or more antennas. By applying a variable reactance (capacitive or inductive component) antenna aperture tuner within a simple, scalar antenna aperture tuning system, the maintenance of a constant antenna resonant frequency in the presence of environmental changes or head/hand effects is obtained. The variable reactance is used to adjust the resonant frequency of the antenna to stay at the desired target frequency in response to external variables that would otherwise shift the resonance away from the operating frequency of the device. Adjusting the resonant frequency of the antenna in response to externally induced changes maintains the radiating efficiency of the antenna and simultaneously avoids impedance mismatch between the antenna and the respective transmit/receive path in the radio, thereby minimizing transmission losses.

Non-RMS affecting mounting system for antenna systems

An antenna system includes technological improvements for achieving improved surface accuracy of an antenna reflector during manufacturing and assembly, as well as maintaining the surface accuracy in response to wear and tear on the reflector. The antenna system includes a reflector, a plurality of mounting tabs, and a backing structure. The reflector has a front reflecting curved surface, an outer rim, and a back surface. The plurality of mounting tabs are positioned and secured around the outer rim of the reflector. Each of the plurality of mounting tabs is independently flexible with respect to the outer rim. The backing structure has a central mount, a plurality of attachment arms, and a feed arm attachment. The plurality of attachment arms are secured to the outer rim of the reflector via the plurality of mounting tabs.

A subreflector of a dual-reflector antenna comprises a first extremity comprising a convex inner surface, a second extremity adapted for coupling to the extremity of a waveguide, and a body extending between the first extremity and the second extremity. The body comprises a first dielectric part having a portion penetrating into the waveguide and a portion outside the waveguide, and a second metallic part comprising a first cylindrical portion, contiguous with the first extremity of the subreflector, whose diameter is greater than the portion outside the waveguide of the first dielectric part, and a second cylindrical portion, adjacent to the first cylindrical portion, extended by a conical portion that penetrates into the first dielectric part. The first cylindrical portion features a flat ring-shaped surface that forms an angle less than 90 with the axis of the subreflector so as to face the primary reflector.
