Compact radio frequency (RF) communication modules with endfire and broadside antennas

The techniques described herein relate to a Radio Frequency (RF) communication module for a hand-held mobile electronic device. The Radio Frequency (RF) communication module includes a circuit board and a plurality of antennas disposed on a top side and bottom side of the circuit board. The plurality of antennas comprise a first subset of antennas comprising end-fire antennas and a second subset of antennas comprising broadside antennas. The first subset of antennas and the second subset of antennas also have a bandwidth of approximately 40 percent. The Radio Frequency (RF) communication module also includes a shielded area comprising circuitry coupled to the circuit board for controlling the antennas.

Collocated end-fire antenna and low-frequency antenna systems, devices, and methods

Antenna systems, devices, and methods for providing both end-fire mm-wave high-frequency signals and low-frequency RF signals from a collocated antenna array in which at least one high-frequency antenna element and a low-frequency antenna element are spaced apart from one another. Grating strips are positioned between the high-frequency antenna elements and the low-frequency antenna element, the grating strips being spaced apart from one another by a defined spacing. The grating strips are configured such that a signal wave from the high-frequency antenna element propagates through the low-frequency antenna element.

Radar loss caused by a windshield having laminated glass in a vehicle is suppressed with a simple configuration.

An antenna's radiation section is disposed inside the windshield of a vehicle having a plurality of layers. The radiation section not only radiates radio waves but also receives reflected waves of the radio waves from a target. A distance measurement information generation section is connected to the radiation section. The distance measurement information generation section measures a distance to the target on the basis of the radiated radio waves and the reflected waves from the target and generates distance measurement information.

Antenna apparatus

An antenna apparatus for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves via a cover member disposed outside, including: first and second antenna sections that are disposed adjacently to each other along a direction orthogonal to a predetermined direction to which the electromagnetic waves are transmitted and received and that transmit the electromagnetic waves, respectively; and first and second dielectric lenses that are disposed in the predetermined direction to which the first and second antenna sections transmit their electromagnetic waves and narrow beams of the electromagnetic waves transmitted by the first and second antennas, respectively, to transmit to the outside, in which an outer end face of first dielectric lens protrudes further forward in the predetermined direction than an outer end face of second dielectric lens.

Integrated end-fire MM-wave antenna array with low frequency metal-framed antenna

The present subject matter relates to antenna systems, devices, and methods that are designed to avoid the degradation of the end-fire radiation pattern of the array when a piece of metal is added obstructing the direction of the main beam. A parasitic radiator is positioned in proximity to the blocking structure and configured to couple at least part of the reflected radiation pattern and radiate toward the desired end-fire direction.
