A method of making a dielectric, Dk, electromagnetic, EM, structure, includes: providing a first mold portion comprising substantially identical ones of a first plurality of recesses arranged in an array; filling the first plurality of recesses with a curable first Dk composition having a first average dielectric constant greater than that of air after full cure; placing a substrate on top of and across multiple ones of the first plurality of recesses filled with the first Dk composition, and at least partially curing the curable first Dk composition; and, removing the substrate with the at least partially cured first Dk composition from the first mold portion, resulting in an assembly having the substrate and a plurality of Dk forms including the at least partially cured first Dk composition, each of the plurality of Dk forms having a three dimensional, 3D, shape defined by corresponding ones of the first plurality of recesses.
Method for manufacturing an antenna array, antenna array, and test system
A method of manufacturing an antenna array is described. The method includes: providing several antennas; determining at least one set of quasi-random positions for the antennas based on a predefined algorithm for limiting aliasing effects, wherein the positions are arranged on a manifold having at least one dimension in an irregular manner; and arranging the antennas according to the at least one set of quasi-random positions obtained from the predefined algorithm for limiting aliasing effects. Further, an antenna array and a test system are described.
Broadband panel array antenna
A broadband panel array antenna includes a polarization layer, a radiating layer and a feed layer which are sequentially stacked from top to bottom. The feed layer is used for converting a single path of TE10 mode signals into a plurality of paths of same-power in-phase TE10 mode signals and transmitting the plurality of paths of TE10 mode signals to the radiating layer. The radiating layer is used for radiating the plurality of paths of TE10 mode signals from the feed layer to a free space. The polarization layer is used for rotating the polarization direction of an electric field generated by the radiating layer to reduce the side lobe in an E-plane direction diagram and an H-plane direction diagram. The broadband panel array antenna has the advantages of being low in side lobe, high in gain and efficiency, and low in machining cost.
Polymer composition for use in an antenna system
A polymer composition comprising a dielectric material distributed within a polymer matrix is provided. The dielectric material has a volume resistivity of from about 0.1 ohm-cm to about 1×10.sup.12 ohm-cm, wherein the polymer matrix contains at least one thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer, and further wherein the polymer composition exhibits a dielectric constant of about 4 or more and a dissipation factor of about 0.3 or less, as determined at a frequency of 2 GHz.
Dielectric reflectarray antenna and method for making the same
The invention relates to a method for making a dielectric reflectarray antenna, and a dielectric reflectarray antenna made using such method. The method includes removing, from a substrate having a dielectric layer and a first outer metallic layer arranged on one side of the dielectric layer, the first outer metallic layer to form an intermediate substrate. The method also includes cutting the intermediate substrate to integrally form a dielectric reflectarray with an array of dielectric reflector elements of the dielectric reflectarray antenna.
SYSTEM PACKAGING FOR MILLIMETER WAVE ANTENNAS
A radio frequency package includes a first portion of an antenna array module, a second portion of the antenna array module, and a flexible cable. The first portion of the antenna array module provides a first wireless communication functionality and the second portion of the antenna array module provides a second wireless communication functionality. The flexible cable includes first surface directly coupled to the first portion of the antenna array module. The flexible cable also includes a second surface directly coupled to the second portion of the antenna array module. The flexible cable communicates signals between the first portion of the distributed antenna array module and the second portion of the antenna array module.
