Multi-mode microwave waveguide blade sensing system
A multi-mode microwave waveguide blade sensing system includes a transceiver, a waveguide, and a probe sensor. The transceiver generates a microwave energy signal having a first waveguide mode and a different second waveguide mode. The waveguide includes a first end that receives the microwave energy signal. The probe sensor includes a proximate end that receives the microwave energy signal from the transceiver and a distal end including an aperture that outputs the microwave energy signal. The probe sensor directs the microwave energy signal at a first direction based on the first waveguide mode and a different second direction different based on the second waveguide mode. The probe sensor receives different levels of reflected microwave energy based at least in part on a location at which the at least one microwave energy signal is reflected from the machine.
Method and system for controlling a modal antenna
An antenna system is provided. In one example, the system includes a modal antenna having a driven element and a parasitic element. The system includes a radio frequency circuit. The system includes a transmission line coupling the radio frequency circuit to the modal antenna. The radio frequency circuit is configured to modulate a control signal onto an RF signal to generate a transmit signal for communication over the transmission line to the tuning circuit. The control signal can include a frame having a plurality of bits associated with the selected mode of the antenna. The radio frequency circuit is configured to encode the plurality of bits associated with the selected mode in accordance with a coding scheme. The coding scheme specifies a unique code for each mode of the plurality of modes. The unique code for each mode of the plurality of modes differs by at least two bits relative to the unique code for each other mode of the plurality of modes.
COMPACT RADIO FREQUENCY ANTENNA APPARATUSES
Antenna assemblies are described herein. In particular, described herein are multi-focal-point antenna devices and compact radio frequency (RF) antenna devices. Any of these assemblies may include a primary feed that includes a single patterned emitting surface from which multiple different beams of RF signals are emitted corresponding to different antenna input feeds each communicating with the patterned antenna emitting surface. The antenna assembly is therefore capable of emitting beams in the same direction having different polarizations using a single primary feed.
Method and system for priority-based handoff
A system and method are provided for wireless communication to operate with multiple network connections sequentially based on priorities. The system includes a first antenna configured to transmit and receive signals in WLAN and to be a modal antenna having multiple first modes corresponding to multiple first radiation patterns, respectively, a second antenna configured to transmit and receive signals in WWAN, the second antenna having at least one second mode; and a processor coupled to the first antenna and the second antenna. The second antenna may also be a modal antenna having multiple second modes.

Visual interfaces for telephone calls
Incoming calls are received from audio capable devices. A call processing server receives an incoming call from an audio-capable device to a destination number, and detects availability for an ancillary source device linked to the audio-capable device. A set of data is provided to the ancillary source device. The set of data specifies graphical menu options for functions supported by the call processing server. The ancillary source device provides an indication of a selection of one of the graphical menu options. In response to the indication, a call transfer for the incoming call is implemented.
Co-located, multi-element antenna structure
Antenna structures and methods of operating the same of an electronic device are described. One apparatus includes a first radio frequency (RF) feed, a second RF feed and an antenna structure. The antenna structure includes a ground plane, a first antenna element coupled to the first RF feed, a second antenna element coupled to the second RF feed and coupled to the ground plane at a first grounding point located at a distal end of the second antenna element. The first antenna element operates as a first directly-fed element and the second antenna element operates as a first parasitic ground element when RF signals in a first frequency range are applied to the first RF feed. The second antenna element operates as a second directly-fed element when RF signals in a second frequency range are applied to the second RF feed, the second frequency range being higher than the first frequency range. The first antenna element is grounded by the RF short circuit when the RF signals in the second frequency range are applied to the second RF feed.
