Downhole wet connection systems

Downhole wet connection systems, and methods and apparatuses to provide an electrical connection between two downhole strings. In one embodiment, a wet connection system having a first electrode coupled to a load and deployed in a wellbore. The wet connection system also includes a second electrode deployed along a string deployed in the wellbore and proximate to the first electrode. Further, the first electrode and the second electrode form a wet connection to transmit alternating current from the second electrode to the first electrode.

FLUIDIC WIRE CONNECTORS

A connector to connect to a liquid metal wire includes an opening to couple to a casing of the liquid metal wire and a reservoir, where a portion of a solid metal conductor is positioned within the reservoir. The reservoir is to receive liquid metal to substantially fill a volume of the reservoir and extend through the opening into the fluidic wire, where the reservoir and fluidic wire, when filled with the liquid metal, are to form at least a portion of a liquid metal.

Surgical instrument with electrical contact under membrane

A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft assembly, an end effector, and an electrical contact assembly. The includes a power source, while the shaft assembly extends distally from the body. The end effector includes a channel assembly and a cartridge assembly configured to selectively couple with the channel assembly. The cartridge assembly includes an electrically activated component. The electrical contact assembly is capable of electrically coupling the power source with the electrically activated component of the cartridge assembly. The electrical contact assembly includes a first electrical contact, a second electrical contact, and an insulating membrane. The first electrical contact is associated with the channel assembly while the second electrical contact is associated with the cartridge assembly. The insulating membrane is associated with either the first electrical contact or the second electrical contact. The insulating membrane is configured to transition between a closed position and an opened position. Either the first electrical contact or the second electrical contact is configured to transition the insulation membrane to the opened position when the cartridge assembly is coupled to the channel assembly.

Electrical device with detachable components

A detachable electrical device can be formed from a kit comprising a pair of component parts adapted for connection to each other, wherein the connected components of the device may be subsequently disconnected, comprising: an array of electrical connectors, each electrical connector comprising an electrically conductive liquid; and an array of electrodes; wherein the arrays can be brought into contact with each other so as to provide a plurality of electrical connections between the electrically conductive liquid of the array of electrical connectors and the electrodes of the array of electrodes, and wherein the electrical connections may be subsequently broken by detaching the electrically conductive liquid from the electrodes of the array.
