Systems and methods for a cable connector

A connector for receiving a ribbon cable is provided. The connector includes a housing including an open top, a cable organizer, and a cover. The cable organizer is configured to be positioned within an interior of the housing and configured to receive the ribbon cable upon an upper surface thereof. The cover is configured to selectively cover the open top of the housing to enclose the cable organizer within the interior of the housing. The cover is coupled to the housing and includes a latch configured to engage the housing and the cable organizer and move in a both vertical direction relative to the housing and rotate relative to the housing.

A clamping terminal comprises a first elastic arm disposed at one end thereof and includes a first elastic beam and a first upper sub-arm coupled to the first elastic beam. A second elastic arm is disposed at the other end of the clamping terminal and includes a second elastic beam and a second upper sub-arm coupled to the second elastic beam. A shared elastic arm assembly is disposed between the first elastic arm and the second elastic arm and includes at least one shared elastic beam. Two sides of the shared elastic beam are coupled to shared sub-arms respectively, such that the first elastic arm is disposed opposite to one side of the shared elastic arm assembly to form a first sub-clamping terminal. The second elastic arm is disposed opposite to the other side of the shared elastic arm assembly to form a second sub-clamping terminal.

An electrical connector and associated terminal are disclosed for making an electrical connection to a wire. The terminal includes a plurality of metal plates adjoining each other to form a stack that defines a passage for receiving the wire. The plates include a plurality of cutter plates disposed between a pair of outer holding plates. Each of the cutter plates has a pair of cutting edges for disrupting any insulation on the wire to permit a conductor of the wire to directly contact the cutter plate. One or more of the cutter plates may have a contact projection for making an electrical connection. The connector includes the terminal and may further include a housing. The holding plates of the terminal have outer edges with abutment features for engaging interior surfaces of the housing.
