PROTECTIVE COVER FOR A POWER CORD
20220311170 · 2022-09-29 ·

A protective cover for the connector of a power cord is provided. The protective cover has a body that defines an enclosure for protectively housing the connector and any associated built-up portion, as well as the portion of the power cord that interfaces with the connector and/or built-up portion. The protective cover may have a filament extending therefrom to a cord ring that attaches to the power cord itself to act as a lanyard toggle. The protective cover may move between an open position and a closed position for receiving and protecting, respectively, the connector. The protective cover may also have elastic properties enabling it to elastically deform sufficiently to slide onto the connector, wherein a tapered hood of the protective cover shrouds the portion of the power cord that interfaces with the connector and/or built-up portion.

High profile USB connector

A high profile female USB connector for mounting to a substrate includes a heightened housing that elevates the female USB connector above and away from a surface of a substrate, such as a printed circuit board (PCB). The female USB connector, which can be a standard, mini, or micro USB type, is contained within the housing with contact pins extending from contacts of the female USB connector through a wall of the housing for connection to the substrate.

Cable assembly for configuring power and control lines

Cabling of equipment at a work site may require lengthy or bulky lines or cables to be run from a power source. A system of cabling control to reduce the length and weight of cables or lines is disclosed. The system uses cable assemblies coupled to work site equipment to facilitate quick and easy coupling and decoupling of cables or lines. The disclosed cabling system may provide for more efficient set up or configuration of a location and operation of work site equipment.

A system and apparatus for providing a temporary electrical bonding/grounding connection between a first conductive member and a second conductive member. The apparatus includes an electrically conductive cable having first and second ends. At least one magnet assembly is provided for mounting to the first conductive member. The at least one magnet assembly has multiple arcuate surfaces of different radiuses of curvature, with respective surfaces of the multiple arcuate surfaces being configured to properly mount to a respective arcuate surface of the first conductive member. A conductive coupling is provided on the at least one magnet assembly. The conductive coupling is configured to be electrically coupled to the first end of the cable. The second end of the cable is configured to be detachably and electrically coupled to the second conductive member.

Systems and methods for frequency shifting resonance of connector stubs

In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a connector may include a housing and a pin housed in the housing and configured to electrically couple to a corresponding electrically-conductive conduit of an information handling resource comprising the connector. The pin may include an approximate connection point at which the pin electrically couples to a corresponding pin of another connector mated to the connector and a stub extending from the approximate connection point and constructed such that a per-unit-length signal propagation delay through the stub is significantly larger than a per-unit-length signal propagation delay through the remainder of the pin excluding the stub.

Bracket assembly for reinforcing connectors on printed circuit boards
09768569 · 2017-09-19 · ·

This document describes a bracket assembly for reinforcing connectors on printed circuit boards. In some aspects, an apparatus is described that includes a device chassis with a stopper feature, a printed circuit board (PCB) attached to the device chassis, and an extended connector assembly mounted to the PCB. The extended connector assembly includes a connector and a connector reinforcing bracket. The connector reinforcing bracket increases a length of the connector to reduce the magnitude of a bending moment induced in the PCB by a connector insertion force. The connector reinforcing bracket also limits deformation of the PCB caused by the connector insertion force.

HEADPHONE OR EARPHONE ASSEMBLY HAVING A PIVOTABLE USB CHARGING CONNECTOR INTEGRATED INTO A HOUSING THEREOF

Wireless earphones or headphones include a control unit having a housing which contains electronic circuitry, and exposed push button switches mounted on the housing. The control unit has a pivotable and foldable male connector plug in the form of a micro or mini USB connector. The plug may be pivoted outwardly, away from the control unit, and unfolded to conform to the shape of a standard micro or mini USB plug. The advantage of such a design is that there are no extra cables required for charging internal battery of the earphones or headphones. Rather, the male connector of the control unit, which is exposed when pivoted away from the control unit and useable when unfolded, may be plugged directly into a laptop computer or other source of power having a compatible micro or mini USB female connector, without the need for a cable extending between the two devices.
