MODULAR PLUG

A plug for use in an electrical connector system includes a handle body assembly comprising a handle body and a flange disposed on an end of the handle body. The flange defines a plurality of openings. A sleeve assembly includes a sleeve and a flange disposed on an end of the sleeve. The flange on the sleeve defines a plurality of openings. The openings in the flange on the handle body are aligned with the openings in the flange on the sleeve. A contact assembly is disposed, at least partially, in the sleeve of the sleeve assembly. The contact assembly includes a contact holder and a plurality of contacts coupled to the contact holder. Fasteners extend through the aligned openings in the flanges to secure the handle body assembly to the sleeve assembly.

Safety-equipped connection systems and methods thereof for establishing electrical connections

Connection systems and methods thereof facilitate establishing electrical connections through a barrier such as a drape without compromising a sterile field established by the barrier. A connection system can include two connectors. A first connector can include a first-connector housing defining a cavity, a slideable end piece coupled to a distal-end portion of the first-connector housing, and at least a first piercing element connected to a first electrical lead. The first piercing element can be configured to enter the cavity and pierce a barrier disposed in the cavity when the slideable end piece is advanced toward a proximal-end portion of the first-connector housing. A second connector can include at least a first receptacle within a second-connector housing connected to a second electrical lead. The first receptacle can be configured to form at least a first electrical connection with the first piercing element after the first piercing element pierces the barrier.

Connecting apparatus

A connecting apparatus comprising a holding member and a conductive member. The holding member has holding portions. The conductive member has a plurality of held portions, a plurality of contact portions, a plurality of extending portions and a plurality of coupling portions. Each of the extending portions extends rearward in a front-rear direction from one of the held portions and protrudes rearward in the front-rear direction beyond the holding portion. The extending portions are positioned apart from each other in a right-left direction. The coupling portions are positioned apart from each other in the right-left direction. The coupling portions are positioned rearward of the extending portions in the front-rear direction. Each of the coupling portions couples two of the extending portions with each other. Two of the held portions, which are adjacent to each other in the right-left direction, are coupled with the two extending portions, respectively.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR SYSTEM

An electrical connector system includes a first connector comprising first contacts and a plurality of contact guides associated with the respective first contacts. The system also includes a second connector comprising second contacts configured to slide between a respective one of the contact guides and a respective one of the first contacts in response to joining the first and second connectors as a mated pair. Each respective contact guide provides contact pressure to a first surface of the respective one of the second contacts to provide a biasing force of the second contact onto the first contact to electrically couple a second surface of the respective one of the second contacts opposite the first side to an adjoining surface of the respective one of the first contacts to conduct a signal between the respective one of each of the first and second contacts.

PLUG CONNECTION, PLUG CONNECTOR, LATCHING MEANS, AND METHOD FOR FORMING THE LATCHING MEANS

An electrical and/or optical plug connection has a first plug connector and a second plug connector which can be fit to the first plug connector and which corresponds to the first plug connector. The first and second plug connectors each have a plug face which has a first sheet metal contact and a corresponding second sheet metal contact which can be fit together in an electrically contacting manner. The plug connectors further include first and second optical and/or electrical plug contacts which are fit together and which arranged with spacing from the first and second sheet metal contacts. A latching hook having a latching hook and latching arm is provided on the first plug connector and a corresponding latching recess having a latching edge is provided on the second plug connector. A hook portion (1 of the latching hook is connected to the latching arm via a bending line which deviates from a straight line and has a raised 3D shaped surface region with at least one open side.

CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY FOR A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A circuit board assembly includes an electrical connector mounted to a circuit board having a connector housing holding contacts in a contact array. A connector mount having a bracket is coupled to the mounting surface of the circuit board proximate to the mating edge. The electrical connector is movably coupled to the connector mount to move relative to the circuit board during mating with the mating electrical connector. The connector mount has a biasing member compressible along a compression axis parallel to the mating direction to allow the electrical connector to float in the mating direction relative to the circuit board. The electrical connector is movably coupled to the connector mount in a confined envelope in at least one floating direction perpendicular to the mating direction.
