An electrical unit outlet device is disclosed for controlling power isolation, based on a pre-determined time, for a device charger, while remaining plugged into a power outlet. A power isolating circuit cuts any power to the charging device off when charge is complete. Multiple embodiments are disclosed including a ground fault interrupted electrical unit outlet that may be controlled by a timer to shut down after batteries have been charged is disclosed and claimed herein. All circuits will subject to ground fault interruption protection and may be subject to surge protection as well. In another embodiment, a lamp with timed charging outlets that shut down when batteries are being charged is disclosed and claimed herein.

Method, system and apparatus for monitoring and measuring power usage by a device

A system and method for remotely monitoring, measuring and controlling power to an electrically powered device is disclosed herein. The system preferably comprises an apparatus, an electrically-powered device and a controller. The apparatus preferably comprises a cord, an alternating current outlet socket, an alternating current input plug, an electro-mechanical relay, a processor and a transceiver. The system preferably uses a WiFi communication signal to transmit commands from the remote controller to the apparatus.

Each wire includes an electrical conductor and an insulation layer. The power distribution system further includes a receptacle selectively positionable at any position along a length of the wires. The power receptacle includes a housing defining at least one power outlet. A plurality of connection members is positioned within the housing. Each connection member includes a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to contact the electrical conductors within the insulation layers of the plurality of wires for electrically connecting the plurality of connection members to the plurality of wires. The second end is configured to electrically connect the plurality of connection members to the at least one power outlet.

A tamper resistant electrical receptacle comprises a housing including a cover having at least one plug outlet formed therethrough, the plug outlet configured to receive both line and neutral blades of an electrical plug. The electrical receptacle further comprises electrical contacts positioned within the housing below the at least one plug outlet, the electrical contacts being configured to be connect to AC power. A shutter disposed within the housing between the cover and the electrical contacts is slidable between a closed position blocking access to the electrical contacts through the plug outlet and an open position allowing access to the electrical contacts through the plug outlet, the shutter being biased toward the closed position. The shutter is configured to slide from the closed position to the open position only upon simultaneous insertion of both the line and neutral blades of the electrical plug in the plug outlet.

A combination outlet connector is disclosed. The combination outlet connector includes an outlet core having three T-shaped apertures. The outlet core has a core outer surface to mate with a first connector type, such as a C14 connector, and electrical terminals are positioned in corresponding apertures. A removable adapter sleeve is positionable around the outlet core and has a sleeve outer surface to mate with a second connector type, such as a C20 connector. The adapter sleeve includes a sleeve aperture at least partially congruent with the core outer surface. The electrical terminals are configured to connect with mating terminals of the first and second connector types. A removable adapter shroud can be positioned around the outlet core. The shroud includes a shroud inner surface to receive the first connector type and a shroud flange having a shroud aperture at least partially congruent with the core outer surface.

The Y-shaped electrical cord can include one electrical cord or cable section connected to the electrical port, a pair of electrical cord or cable sections connected to the pair of electrical receptacles, and a Y-shaped connector connecting the one electrical cord or cable section and the pair of electrical cord or cable sections. Further, the cap or cover and the electrical port have cooperating sealing surfaces to ensure watertight or waterproof sealing when the cap or cover is installed “on” the electrical port to prevent water or moisture reaching the plug.

Each of the rear bodies includes a first locking feature. A second locking feature is located in each of the cavities and is fixed relative to the shell. The first and second locking features are configured such that rotation of a first of the plurality of rear bodies relative to the shell moves the first rear body between locked and unlocked positions, wherein in the locked position a respective first connector and respective first cable are secured with the shell within a respective cavity, and in the unlocked position the first connector and first cable can be removed from the shell without removing the remaining connectors and cables.
