ELASTOMER SEAL SPRING
The seal spring of the present invention has a dual functionality. The seal spring provides both a sealing property and spring function in use within an electrical connector system, which is accomplished by its elastomeric qualities The seal spring is preferably comprised of Silicone, EPDM rubber or materials and compositions that provide similar performance during use, or the like. The seal spring of the present invention is not limited or defined into a spring section or a seal section by its geometry. Shown is an implementation of the seal spring within a conductive female housing and connector assembly. The seal spring compresses and provides adequate spring force against a disk ferrule assembly, pressing the disk ferrule assembly, with a wire shield, against a conductive female outer housing, providing a grounding scheme for the connector assembly. The seal spring also seals against the female outer housing and a wire.
Electrical connector with metal stopping member embedded in a plastic housing
An electrical connector includes: a plastic housing provided with a receiving cavity extending in a front-rear direction therein; a metal stopping member provided in the housing, including at least one fixing portion embedded in the housing and a body exposed to the cavity, the body is provided with a through hole; a terminal base including a base portion and a tongue extending forwardly from the base portion, the terminal base is mounted in the cavity, the body of the metal stopping member blocks in front of the base portion, the tongue passes through the through hole of the metal stopping member and extends forwardly; and a plurality of conductive terminals fixed to the terminal base, each terminal includes a contact portion which is exposed to the tongue and a soldering portion which rearwardly extends out of the terminal base. The connector has a robust structure and facilitates to reduce weight.
Electric wire with terminal, coating apparatus, and method of manufacturing electric wire with terminal
An electric wire with a terminal includes: an electric wire having a core wire, and a cover; a crimp terminal having a core wire crimping portion which is crimped to the core wire, a cover crimping portion which is crimped to the cover, and a connecting portion which extends from the core crimping portion to the cover crimping portion; and a resin which integrally covers the core wire and the crimp terminal. The core wire has an intermediate portion which extends between the core crimping portion and the cover crimping portion. The connecting portion has a bottom wall portion and a pair of side wall portions which extend in a height direction of the crimp terminal from end portions of the bottom wall portion in a width direction.
CABLE SEAL CONNECTOR WITH PUNCH-OUT CAPABILITY FOR UNUSED CAVITIES
A cable seal connector assembly includes an outer housing having a sealing area with a plurality of terminal insertion cavities configured to receive a wire and a cable seal of an electrical connection. The cable seal is disposed about the wire and configured to seal one terminal insertion cavity of the plurality of terminal insertion cavities. At least one terminal insertion cavity of the plurality of terminal insertion cavities includes a molded member integrally formed within the terminal insertion cavity when the outer housing is formed. The molded member is configured to seal the terminal insertion cavity, and the molded member configured to be removed from the terminal insertion cavity.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS INCLUDING GLASS SEALS AND METHODS OF FABRICATION
An electrical connector comprises an outer shell, at least one pin, and an insulating seal. The outer shell includes at least one side wall defining a cavity and having an inner surface. The outer shell is formed from electrically conductive material. The pin is positioned within the cavity and is also formed from electrically conductive material. The insulating seal is configured to provide electrical isolation of the pin and fills the cavity between the inner surface of the side wall and the pin. The insulating seal is formed from glass doped with a transition metal oxide.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of conductive terminals affixed to the insulative housing, a metal shielding plate affixed to the insulative housing and including a fixing plate, and a shielding shell formed by Metal Injection Molding and enclosing the insulative housing for forming a receiving room. The fixing plate is spot-welded onto the shielding shell for forming a welding spot. The thickness of the shielding shell spot-welded onto the welding spot is twice as thick as the fixing plate at least. The shielding shell has more than twice the rigidity of the fixing plate.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
An electrical connector includes: a plug connector including an insulative housing, plural conductive terminals affixed to the insulative housing, a shielding plate affixed to the insulative housing, and a shielding shell enclosing the insulative housing; and an insulative shell attached to the plug connector and a silicon o-ring integrated with an opening of the insulative shell.
Waterproof, dual-polarity decorative light string
Disclosed is a waterproof LED light string that provides outdoor lighting in a simple and reliable manner. Waterproof bulb assemblies are used with replaceable LED light sources. The bulb assemblies are easily suspended from a rope or wire, screwed to a support, or magnetically supported from a ferrous metal support. Duplicate circuitry in the LED light source allows the LED light source to be connected in either direction.
Rotatable and wet-mateable connector
A mating connector that is rotatable and wet-mateable is disclosed herein. The connector has mating components that can be characterized as male and female. The connector may have one or more electrical and/or non-electrical contacts. As used herein, “wet-mateable” or “wet-connectable” means proper mating of the male and female components can be achieved even in the presence of conductive fluid. Being rotatable means the male and female components can be rotated independently during the mating process. A male component of a rotatable and wet-mateable mating connector is provided that has conductive and non-conductive sealing elements. A female component of the rotatable and wet-mateable mating connector is provided having conductive elements that are complementary to the male component. The male component is inserted into a chamber within the female component to produce the rotatable and wet-mateable mating connector.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a number of conductive contacts affixed to the insulative housing, a middle shielding plate affixed to the insulative housing, a shielding shell enclosing the insulative housing for forming a mating room; and an outer metal shell enclosing the shielding shell. The insulative housing has a base portion and a tongue portion extending forwardly from the base portion. The electrical connector further includes a sealer with an o-ring at a front end thereof. The sealer is insert-molded with the shielding shell for forming a waterproof structure enclosing the insulative housing. A front end of the outer metal shell resists the sealer. The outer metal shell encloses the sealer, making the sealer attach to shielding shell firmly. The sealer achieves a good waterproof effect.
