An electrical panel board includes an enclosure defining a first and second chamber, a power distribution module disposed in one of the first chamber and the second chamber and adapted to electrically connect a main power source to receive power thereof with one or more loads. A neutral assembly is positioned in the remaining of the first chamber and the second chamber and securable to the rear wall of the enclosure. The neutral assembly includes a neutral circuit and a ground fault protection unit electrically coupled to each other. The neutral assembly having the neutral circuit and the ground fault protection unit extends from the rear wall to an imaginary plane which is off set rearwardly from an imaginary plane along which the power distribution module extends from the rear wall.

Disclosed herein is a panelboard guard assembly configured to restrict access to a panelboard having a cover and a door defined therein, the cover having first and second side edges. The panelboard guard assembly includes overlapping members that are, at least in some implementations, mutually coupled to each other. The panelboard guard assembly further includes an adjustment mechanism that extends between and couples the members together, the adjustment mechanism facilitating adjustment of the distance between the outer ends of the members.

DETACHABLE BARRIER FOR ELECTRICAL SWITCHING APPARATUS

An arc shield for electrical switching apparatuses is provided. The arc shield comprises a mounting base and a detachable barrier and includes a multi-point mounting system that eliminates the need for hardware and gloves when installing the detachable barrier on the mounting base. The mounting base is formed with a hinge tab and two locking tabs, and the detachable barrier is formed with a corresponding notch and two tab receiving openings formed with retention profile. The notch can be seated on the hinge tab in order to establish a hinge, and once the hinge is established, the locking tabs can be inserted through the tab receiving openings by bending the detachable barrier. Once the bending force is removed, the retention profiles of the locking tabs ensure that the detachable barrier cannot be removed from the mounting base unless a bending force is intentionally reapplied to the barrier.

According to the invention, the main switch operating unit is mounted on the front door panel.
