A saw assembly, including at least one saw blade, is supported by the saw handle and moveable relative to the cable receiving handle. The saw assembly configured to simultaneously cut the armor sheathing of the cable in two places.

CUTTING STATION AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY CUTTING CABLE ELEMENTS TO A SPECIFIC LENGTH

A cutting station for the automatic cutting to a specific length of cable elements and has a magazine which extends in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction and has several holders for one cable element each. The cable elements are held next to each other in a horizontal magazine plane. A processing head extends in a longitudinal direction, which is movable in a transverse direction relative to the stationary magazine and is designed for gripping, pulling off and cutting to a specific length a respective currently selected cable element from the magazine. Each holder has two fixing elements spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction for holding the cable element. For machining by the processing head, a respective holder with a respective cable element is lifted in a preferred configuration from the magazine plane into the working plane.

System for servicing cable

A system for servicing cable includes a plurality of jaws operable between an open position for receiving a cable in a direction transverse to a cable axis such that the cable extends axially beyond the jaws in two directions, and a closed position for engaging and rotationally fixing the cable about the cable axis. A tool arrangement is disposed proximate to the base and includes at least one tool operable to perform work on the cable when the cable is engaged by the jaws. The tool arrangement is operable to perform at least one of a rotational movement around or an axial movement along the cable axis and to operate the tool.

Working head for a compression or cutting tool
10799962 · 2020-10-13 · ·

A working head for a hydrodynamic cutting tool includes a working head, an electro-hydraulic pump adapted to increase the pressure of a hydraulic liquid, and a pressure tube connected between the pump and the working head to communicate the pressure of the hydraulic liquid from the pump to the working head. The working head may be removably connectable to the pressure tube and includes two jaws movable, in response to the increase of the hydraulic liquid pressure, between an open position and a closed position to perform the cutting. A cutting detector may be used to detect the completion of the cutting. A cutting confirmation transmitter may be connected to the cutting detector and configured for a wireless transmission of a cutting completion confirmation signal to a cutting confirmation receiver of the cutting tool.

POWER TOOL
20200316697 · 2020-10-08 ·

A power tool according to the present invention includes a cutting unit that performs a cutting action, and a cutting action input unit for turning the cutting action on and off. The cutting action input unit, when turned on, causes the cutting unit to move in a direction of an end position of the cutting action, and when turned off, causes the cutting unit to stop moving in a case where the cutting action has not ended at a time when the cutting action input unit is turned off, and to move in a direction of a standby position prior to a start of the cutting action in a case where the cutting action has ended at the time when the cutting action input unit is turned off.

Tool for removing a splice from a power line
10790645 · 2020-09-29 ·

A tool facilitates removal of a splice used to serially connect lengths of cable into an electrical power line. The tool has an elongated slide of semi-circular cross-section with outer and inner diameters suited to saddle the cable and snugly enter into an open end of the splice and into abutment against a spring-biased split-ring vise grip in the splice. With the leading end of the tool butted against the spring-biased vise grip, application of manual force to a handle on the trailing end of the tool drives the vise grip to compress its biasing spring, expanding the vise-grip and releasing the cable for removal from the vise grip and the splice without damaging the splice or cutting the cables connected to the splice.

Conductor trimmer system

A conductor trimmer may be provided. The conductor trimmer may include a grip and a trimmer. The grip may have a grip handle and a trimmer groove. The trimmer may include a trimmer handle. The trimmer may engage the trimmer groove. With trimmer snuggly attached to both the grip and a conductor, the trimmer may be rotated about conductor by a user holding the grip handle stationary and rotating the trimmer by the trimmer handle. As the trimmer rotates about the conductor, a first roller rail and a second roller rail may ride in the trimmer groove as a blade cuts layers of strands from the conductor.
