Expandable cord protector

A cord protector with an elongated body and a coupler that joins the elongated body to an adjacent elongated body to form an elongated cord protector system. The elongated body has a base and a lid. The base has a channel extending between a first end and a second end. The base also has ridges that extend into the channel, a cavity configured to mate with the coupler, and a central pillar that extends from the floor into the channel along a majority of the channel. The lid is configured to be inserted into the channel. The lid has two grooves that are sized and shaped to receive one of the ridges. The lid also has a slot configured to receive the top of the central pillar when the lid is inserted into the channel. The central pillar supports the lid when the lid is inserted into the channel.

FLOOR CABLE CHANNEL

The present invention relates to a floor cable channel for positioning a cable line element on an underlying surface and for protecting the cable line element. The floor cable channel includes a first channel element and a second channel element for receiving the cable line element and a connection element connecting the first channel element to the second channel element. The connection element allows rotational movement of the first channel element relative to the second channel element. The floor cable channel can be brought into a transport position in which the channel elements are parallel to each other and into an operating position in which the channel elements are arranged along their longitudinal axes. In the operating position, the first and second channel elements are in contact at their mutually facing front faces to provide a self-locking of the channel elements relative to each other in the operating position.

A cable management system may include a first segment, a second segment, or a pivoting link. The first segment may define a first volume configured to receive a cable. The second segment may define a second volume configured to receive the cable. The pivoting link may be configured to couple to the first segment to prevent rotation of the first segment relative to the pivoting link. The pivoting link may also be configured to couple to the second segment to form an articulating joint configured to permit the second segment to rotate relative to the pivoting link.

The invention provides in one embodiment a cable management assembly for use with a railway rail, the cable management assembly comprising: a connector comprising a clip and a fastener for fastening the clip to an underside of a foot of the railway rail, and a tube comprising, along the length of the tube, a slit for insertion of a cable into the tube, wherein the clip comprises an opening through which the tube is insertable into the clip, and the tube and clip are configured to be moveable relative to each other between an open position, in which the slit and opening are aligned to allow the cable to be inserted into the tube, and a closed position, in which the slit and opening are out of alignment so that the cable is retained in the tube. Advantages associated with the embodiment include cost-effective, low maintenance cable management, with the assembly being easy to install.

Apparatus and method for sheltering electrical cord connections

An apparatus and method for sheltering electrical cord connections are provided. The apparatus is designed to protect electrical connections formed between electrical cords from precipitation by sheltering and elevating the electrical connection above a ground surface. The apparatus has an elongated support member having a first end to which a shelter is secured and a second end that secures the apparatus to a ground surface. A securing member disposed between the first end and second end of the support member is designed to support an electrical cord and electrical connections formed thereby above a ground surface. The shelter shields any electrical cord and connection held above the ground surface by the securing member from falling precipitation such as rain or snow.
