CABLE SEALING MODULE
A sealed structure (e.g., sealing module, sealing projection, etc.) transitions the direction of one or more cables passing through the structure. Sealant (e.g., a gel block) is disposed within the structure to seal one or more cables extending along a transition path within the sealed structure. Ducts and/or cables may be anchored to the sealed structure. The sealed structure may be mechanically secured to a closure at a selected rotational orientation.
CABLE GLAND INCLUDING INTERNAL DAM
A cable gland includes an internal dam. The internal dam includes a plurality of filaments to inhibit curable liquid from flowing through the dam and between the dam and one or more conductors of a cable.
WELD POSITIONING CLIP FOR ENCAPSULATION PROCESS
A cable clip for engaging around an exposed conducting core of a cable during an encapsulation process. The clip is formed as a rectilinear loop having an inner surface and an outer surface and opposed ends which define an opening in the loop therebetween by means of which the clip can be engaged around the exposed core. The clip has posts distributed around, and extending outwardly from, its outer surface. The posts engage with an inner surface in an encapsulation mold enclosed around the clip so as to maintain a minimum spacing between the mold and the outer surface of the body around the entire clip and thereby ensure a minimum thickness of encapsulation sealant is formed around the exposed core of the cable during the encapsulation process.
Wire harness
A wire harness including: a first wire bundle that includes a plurality of wires; a second wire bundle that includes fewer wires than the first wire bundle; a splice body; and a waterproofing cover, wherein: the wires of the first wire bundle and the second wire bundle each include a conductor and an insulating covering that covers an outer circumference of the conductor, and each include an exposed portion at which the conductor is exposed from the insulating covering, at the splice body, the exposed portions of the first wire bundle and the exposed portions of the second wire bundle are bonded, and the waterproofing cover integrally covers the splice body, the outer surfaces of the insulating coverings of the first wire bundle, and the outer surfaces of the insulating covering of the second wire bundle with a resin material.
System and Method for Producing Foamed Sealing for Wiring
A cable exit cover for sealing a portion of a cable includes a first cover member and a second cover member matable with the first cover member to define a housing having an inlet receiving the cable. The inlet has a sealing seat accommodating the cable. The sealing seat has a plurality of gripping devices uniformly distributing a dispensed sealing material along the sealing seat to seal a gap between the sealing seat and the cable.
CONNECTOR PROTECTOR HAVING A POCKET FOR FORMING A SEAL
A connector protector for protecting an electrical connection between a wire and an electrical connector includes a body member. The body member has a through hole for accommodating the wire. One end of the body member includes a mouth portion and the other end includes a connector cover portion configured to cover the electrical connector. The mouth portion includes a lip having a first diameter that is greater than a second diameter of a through-hole of the body member is as to define a pocket. The pocket is configured to bound a circumference of the wire and is configured to hold a resin so as to form a water-tight seal between the body and the wire. In one aspect, the resin and the body member is formed of a thermoplastic polyurethane. The resin is melted so as to fuse with the body member.
Wire harness that provides a high waterproofing property
A wire harness including: a wire that includes a conductor and an insulating covering that covers an outer circumference of the conductor, and that includes an exposed portion at which the conductor is exposed from the insulating covering; and a waterproofing cover that integrally covers the exposed portion and an outer surface of the insulating covering with a resin material, wherein a covering length, which is a length of a region in which the waterproofing cover covers the insulating covering, is greater than or equal to a length at which a maximum thermal stress at an edge of the waterproofing cover that is in contact with the insulating covering is equal to an adhesive strength of the resin material with respect to the insulating covering.
Liquid epoxy brush barrier
A barrier including an outer edge and a plurality of elements such as bristles projecting inwardly from the outer edge. An electrical fitting including a body having an inner cavity, an aperture within the inner cavity between a first portion and a second portion, and a barrier positioned within or adjacent to the aperture, the barrier including an outer edge and a plurality of bendable elements. A method of assembling an electrical fitting including providing a barrier including an outer edge and a plurality of bendable elements projecting inwardly, placing the barrier within an inner cavity of the electrical fitting, placing a conductor into the second portion of the inner cavity, a distal portion of the conductor extending through the barrier and into a first portion of the inner cavity, and filling the first portion of the inner cavity with a sealing compound.
LIQUID EPOXY BRUSH BARRIER
An electrical fitting including a body having an inner cavity for receiving a plurality of conductors, the inner cavity including a first portion extending to a first exterior opening and a second portion extending to a second exterior opening, and a brush barrier positioned within the inner cavity between the first portion and the second portion, the brush barrier including an outer edge and a plurality of bristles extending inwardly from the outer edge, the bristles being displaceable by the conductors, wherein the electrical fitting is configured to receive a sealing compound within the first portion of the inner cavity between the first exterior opening of the first portion and the brush barrier, the sealing compound being at least partially prevented from propagating into the second portion of the inner cavity by the brush barrier.
BUTT CLOSURES AND BASES THEREFOR
A butt closure base includes a base housing defining a plurality of cavities. A first gel is disposed in each of the plurality of cavities. The butt closure base further includes a plurality of wedge assemblies, each of the plurality of wedge assemblies removably insertable into one of the plurality of cavities. Each of the plurality of wedge assemblies includes an outer cover, a second gel, and a main pressure plate in contact with the second gel. The main pressure plate is movable along a longitudinal axis to apply pressure to the second gel. Each of the plurality of wedge assemblies further includes a latch assembly. The latch assembly includes an adjustable tab and a stop member movable between a first position which limits movement of the adjustable tab and a second position in which movement of the adjustable tab is not limited by the stop member.
