20210111544 · 2021-04-15 ·

A device is disclosed with an internal conductor, which is arranged within the tube interior of a tubular metal sheath and is electrically insulated from this sheath with a compacted, electrically insulating material, in which the compacted electrically insulating material is a compacted magnesium oxide granulate made from magnesium oxide grains of different sizes with edges and projections, and that sections, especially edges and projections of magnesium oxide grains are pressed, under local deformation of the internal conductor and/or the tubular metal sheath, into the internal conductor or into the tubular metal sheath. A method for manufacturing such a device is also disclosed.

Electrical cable braid positioning clip

A cable assembly and method for terminating an end of a cable. The cable assembly includes a ferrule secured to a cable jacket at the end of the cable. The cable also has a braided shield which extends from the end of the cable to the portion of the inner connector positioned in the ferrule. A transition zone is provided between the end of the cable and an end of a portion of an inner connector positioned in the ferrule. A braid positioning clip engages the braided shield in the transition zone to maintain a relationship of the braided shield to the signal conductors to minimize the degradation of the electrical performance of the cable.

Method of Manufacturing a Termination Band

The present disclosure provides a termination band and a method of manufacturing the termination band, which includes a strap and a head. When secured, the head comprises an upper wall, lower wall and opposed side walls formed as a loop with the strap extending therefrom. The termination band is therefore formed as a two-piece component, rather than a single piece as in the prior art. Advantageously this enables the strap and the head to be formed from stainless steel strip having the same width as the head and the strap. It is therefore not necessary to trim the material of either part, hence there is significantly reduced material wastage when forming the termination band. In addition, because the strap and head are both initially in the form of straight-sided elongate strips prior to the folding or joining operations, both parts may be easily edge finished and/or surface finished.

HYBRID CABLE ASSEMBLY

A cable assembly is used to connect elements of a computing system. The cable assembly may include a first cable and a connector. The first cable includes an external portion having a first conductor, an electromagnetic (EMC) shielding jacket for the first conductor and a connector disposed at an end of the first conductor. Further, the first cable includes an internal portion comprising a second conductor and a connector disposed on an end of the second conductor. However, the internal portion lacks an EMC shielding jacket for the second conductor. The external portion of the first cable and the internal portion of the first cable form a continuous cable. The connector device comprises a shield area configured to electrically couple with a chassis of a node of a computer system and a retainer configured to physically couple the cable assembly with the chassis. The connector is configured to electrically couple the external portion of the first cable with the chassis, and wherein the external portion of the first cable meets the internal portion of the first cable at the connector device.

Common mode choke

A cable distribution plant is protected from noise where a modem housing encloses a switching power supply and digital electronics, the modem switching power supply for receiving AC mains power via an EMI filter and modem digital electronics for receiving a switching power supply output via an LC filter for filtering noise at the switching power supply frequency wherein multiple filters used with respective modems at subscriber sites protect the head-end from switching power supply harmonic noise otherwise aggregated by the nodes and passed to the head end.
