A locking lid for a ground vault, generally containing high voltage cable junctions or communication lines, provides a secure lid locking to the ground vault which prevents removal of the lid from the vault by an unauthorized person, preventing theft of the contents of the vault including high voltage electrical lines, communication lines or other buried equipment which might be stolen for salvage or subject to vandalism.

A theft deterrent cable may be provided. First, a plurality of unique codes may be created. Then a plurality of indicia may be placed periodically and longitudinally on the interior of the cable that may not be viable from the exterior of the cable. The plurality of indicia may respectively correspond to the plurality of unique codes. An indicator may be placed on the exterior of the cable. In a database, the plurality of unique codes may be assigned to an organizational entity. The organizational entity may comprise a first enterprise. Next, an indication that the cable is to be transferred from the first enterprise to a second enterprise may be received. In response to the received indication, the plurality of unique codes may be assigned in the database from the organizational entity comprising the first enterprise to the organizational entity comprising a second enterprise.

Aspects of the present invention provide a theft-resistant cable clamp that increases the time and effort required to remove the cable from the irrigation equipment, thereby deterring thieves As the extensions that protrude from the cable-reception loop are forced together, the walls of the cable-reception loop compress against the cable. Openings in the extensions on the cable clamp allow the cable clamp to fit over a component of the irrigation equipment. A plurality of teeth can protrude from the perimeter of an opening to grip the exterior of the component. A coupler or other component may have a groove into which the teeth engage when the cable clamp is in a final location on the component.

A utility housing includes an enclosure having a plurality of walls and a central opening for receiving a utility component. An insert is configured to be positioned in the central opening and has a plurality of insert side walls comprising a first insert side wall and a second insert side wall at least partially defining a central region. A first flange extends from the first insert side wall into the central region and a second flange extends from the second insert side wall into the central region. A removable cover is configured to be placed over the insert. A removable lid is configured to connect to the enclosure.

A metal-theft detection device includes a first sensing terminal configured to be electrically coupled with an earth wire of a mains electricity circuit, a second sensing terminal configured to be electrically coupled with a neutral wire of the mains electricity circuit, a wireless communications module, and circuitry configured to measure a resistance of a conductive path connected between the first and second sensing terminals, and to cause the wireless communications module to transmit a wireless message based on the measured resistance.

A streetlight apparatus and method involves use of an anti-theft material for deterring theft of electrical wiring from a streetlight. The anti-theft material includes a stack of rings encircling the electrical wiring in the chamber of the base of the streetlight, where each ring of the stack of rings may include a plurality of ring segments that are each individually insertable through an access opening of the base of the streetlight and positioned around the electrical wiring.

A conduit locking device includes a housing having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall disposed between the first end and the second end. The conduit locking device may further include a slide engaged with the sidewall of the housing, the slide including an extension arm and an end portion structurally configured to engage with an inner wall of a conduit. The slide may be extendable via the extension arm from a first position substantially adjacent to the sidewall of the housing to a second position disposed away from the sidewall of the housing, where, when in the second position, the slide is configured to retain the conduit locking device at a fixed position within the conduit through the engagement of the end portion with the inner wall of the conduit.
