An electronic device for controlling a power supply is provided. The electronic device includes a power unit configured to supply power, a power management unit configured to receive a supply of power from the power unit and to distribute the supplied power, a flood sensing unit connected to the power unit and located in a part of the electronic device most subject to flooding or fluid penetration, and a power control switch configured to, if a voltage level of the flood sensing unit is a first level indicating no detected flooding or fluid penetration, electrically connect the power unit and the power management unit to each other, and if the voltage level of the flood sensing unit is a second level indicating a detected flooding or fluid penetration, interrupt an electrical connection between the power unit and the power management unit.

Protection monitoring system with fault indicators

A protection monitoring system is provided that includes a protection fault handler. The protection fault handler includes a protection fault indicator. The protection fault handler is configured to activate the protection fault indicator upon indication of a protection fault signal. Moreover, the protection fault signal is indicative of a critical fault which has occurred in a protection system monitored by the protection monitoring system. The protection monitoring system also includes a user inhibit handler. The user inhibit handler includes a user inhibit indicator. Moreover, the user inhibit handler is configured to activate the user inhibit indicator upon indication of a user inhibit signal. Furthermore, the user inhibit signal is indicative of a user-enabled alarm inhibit or a user-enabled bypass.

Rapid pressure rise detection and management system
10309851 · 2019-06-04 · ·

A rapid pressure rise detection and management system that detects internal pressure changes in a transformer. The rapid pressure rise detection and management system communicates with one or more pressure sensors attached to a tank of the transformer and measures the rate of pressure change versus time. The rapid pressure rise detection and management system then compares this rate of pressure change against a set of parameters to determine if this pressure change is an internal fault requiring the transformer to be taken offline or external fault to be ignored. This rapid pressure rise detection and management system may be a standalone device or work with other monitoring/controlling equipment to expand its sensing and management capabilities.
