The microwave unit includes a differential receiver, having a first terminal connected to the IS output via the set of blocking capacitors, and a second terminal connected to the housing ground potential via the set of blocking capacitors, a voltage between the first and second terminals forming an input signal to the differential receiver.

An input protection circuit includes a current detection circuit, a voltage detection circuit, a latch circuit and an output circuit. The current detection circuit receives a power input, and when an input current exceeds a threshold current, the current detection circuit outputs a control current. The voltage detection circuit is coupled to the current detection circuit, and when the input voltage exceeds a threshold voltage, the voltage detection circuit outputs a control voltage. The latch circuit is coupled to the current detection circuit and the voltage detection circuit. When the latch circuit receives the control voltage or the control current, a switching voltage outputted by the latch circuit is equal to a reference voltage. The output circuit is coupled to the current detection circuit, the voltage detection circuit and the latch circuit. When the switching voltage is equal to the reference voltage, the output circuit stops outputting a power output.

Explosion-proof device

An explosion-proof device includes a frame having a hollow shape, the frame housing an electrical component and a battery capable of supplying the electrical component with electric power. A protection device is configured to stop electric supply to the electrical component from the battery, if there is a risk of an explosive atmosphere entering the frame. The battery is housed in an explosion-proof container, within the frame, and thus it is possible to suppress damage to surroundings effectively even in case of ignition of an explosive atmosphere flowing into the frame by the battery.

Active limiting circuit for intrinsically safe equipment

An active limiting switch includes a comparator and a power switch. The comparator is configured to compare a reference voltage with a sense voltage. The sense voltage is representative of a proportional approximation to power in a load being driven by a battery. The power switch is configured to be, in response to the reference voltage being less than the sense voltage, in an open state. The power switch is also configured to be, in response to the reference voltage being greater than the sense voltage, in a closed state creating a closed circuit between the battery and the load allowing the battery to provide a first amount of power to the load.
