SMART CARTRIDGE WAKE UP OPERATION AND DATA RETENTION
An electronic system for a surgical instrument is disclosed. The electronic system comprises a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a primary circuit. A supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit. A short circuit protection circuit coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to isolate itself from the main power supply circuit when the supplementary power supply circuit detects a short circuit condition at the secondary circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to rejoin the main power supply circuit and supply power to the secondary circuit, when the short circuit condition is remedied.

Electrical receptacle fault protection
An electrical receptacle contains a plug outlet that has a pair of contacts for electrical connection to respective hot and neutral power lines. A controlled switch, such as a TRIAC, is connected in series relationship between the outlet contact and the hot power line. Sensors in the receptacle outputs signals to a processor having an output coupled to the control terminal of the controlled switch. The processor outputs an activation signal or a deactivation signal to the controlled switch in response to received sensor signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.
Method and system for detecting miswiring of a power supply for a domestic appliance
A system for detecting miswiring in an AC power supply for an appliance may comprise a phase sensor sensing the phase difference between the first and a second hot line powering heavy electrical loads therebetween, and a control module coupling to the phase and voltage sensors. The control module may identify a fault condition and may disconnect different electrical loads from the power supply in the fault condition.
Systems and methods using electrical receptacles for integrated power control, communication and monitoring
An electrical receptacle contains contacts, at least one contact for electrical connection to a hot power line and at least one contact for a neutral power line. A controlled switch, such as a TRIAC, is connected in series relationship between the contact and the hot power line. One or more sensors are provided which detect signals of the hot power line and/or the neutral power line. The processor provides activation or deactivation control to the controlled switch in response to the detected signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.
Smart cartridge wake up operation and data retention

A supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit. A short circuit protection circuit coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to isolate itself from the main power supply circuit when the supplementary power supply circuit detects a short circuit condition at the secondary circuit. Protective circuit and display device
This application provides a protective circuit and a display device. The protective circuit includes a control line, a transmission line, and an active switch. The control line transmits a control signal; the transmission line includes an input line and an output line; and a control end of the active switch is electrically coupled to the control line, a first end of the active switch is connected to the input line, and a second end of the active switch is connected to the output line. A protected wire is arranged between the input line and the output line.
Safety device for a power supply
Safety device for an electrical apparatus powered by an AC mains power supply, the safety device comprising: an electric circuit having inputs for connecting to an active, neutral and earth conductors of the electrical apparatus which are in turn coupled to the AC mains power supply, the circuit being operable to: produce and apply a stepped down voltage and current to the earth conductor from the main supply; and electrically isolate the active and neutral conductors from the earth conductor in response to detecting that either: the active conductor is incorrectly wired to the neutral circuit of the AC mains power supply; the neutral conductor is incorrectly wired to the active circuit of the AC mains power supply; or the neutral conductor is switched; wherein one or more solid state relays are employed by the circuit for both producing the stepped down voltage and electrically isolating the conductors from earth.
Vehicle control device
There is provided a vehicle control device that allows high-speed diagnosis of a current breaker while assuring the accuracy of the current flowing to a load during the operation of the load. A smoothing capacitor (8) is connected in parallel to linear solenoid valves (13a and 13b). A current breaker (3a) and a reverse connection protector (4a) are connected in series from a battery (2) to a first connection point (P1) between the linear solenoid valves (13a and 13b) and the smoothing capacitor (8). A discharge unit (DU) is connected to a second connection point (P2) between the breaker (3a) and the reverse connection protector (4a) to discharge electric charge from the second connection point (P2).
