Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for switching a control scheme to control a set of system modules and/or modular devices of a surgical hub. A surgical hub may determine a first control scheme that is configured to control a set of system modules and/or modular devices. The surgical hub may receive an input from one of the set of modules or a device located in an OR. The surgical hub may make a determination that at least one of a safety status level or an overload status level of the surgical hub is higher than its threshold value. Based on at least the received input and the determination, the surgical hub may determine a second control scheme to be used to control the set of system modules. The surgical hub may send a control program indicating the second control scheme to one or more system modules and/or modular devices.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISENGAGING BATTERY STRINGS

A machine includes a plurality of battery string modules that supply electric current to an inverter of the machine. The machine also includes a control system that opens at one contactor coupled to at least one battery string module of the plurality of battery string modules to disconnect the at least one battery string module. The other battery string modules of the plurality of battery string modules, apart from the at least one battery string module, continue supplying electric current to the inverter of the machine while the at least one battery string module is disconnected.

The smart ring may include a ring-shaped housing and a power source disposed within or at the ring-shaped housing and configured to receive energy from the charging source while the user is wearing the smart ring and holding the object. A controller may be disposed within or at the ring-shaped housing, or at the object with the charger and configured to estimate a charging rate at which the power source receives the energy from the charging source. The system may further include one or more indicators configured to indicate the charging rate.

Method and Apparatus for Estimating the Available Runtime of a Battery Backup System
20230021521 · 2023-01-26 ·

A battery monitoring system continuously calculates the estimated runtime of a bank of batteries in a battery backup system during both a period of operation when the load current is supplied by a commercial source of AC power and during a period of operation when the commercial source of AC power is not present and the load current is supplied by the bank. The estimated runtime may be displayed to an operator and used to alert the operator if the cutoff voltage of a battery in the bank is at or near its cutoff voltage. The system may open a circuit breaker to avoid catastrophic damage before the cutoff voltage is reached.
