Hybrid Battery Cartridge
Systems, apparatus, and methods for managing power in a hybrid battery cartridge. The hybrid battery cartridge may output single-use battery power, rechargeable battery power, or both. Thus, a single battery cartridge may store multiple types of batteries and allow the batteries to be used separately or concurrently. In one example usage, the battery cartridge may be inserted into other devices to provide power. Additionally, the intelligent hybrid battery cartridge may be used as a stand-alone charger to charge other devices. The intelligent hybrid battery cartridge is designed to allow for retrofitting into existing single-use battery powered devices such as flashlights and lanterns to make them hybrid power enabled. The hybrid battery cartridge may select a power source based the type of load and/or on a reserve power threshold.
Regulated storage capacitor charging device and method
A device and method are disclosed for regulated storage capacitor charging to high voltage. The device comprises an AC source configured to output an AC voltage, a voltage multiplier that constitutes a charging unit and a control unit. The control unit is configured to constantly sense the voltage on the storage capacitor and upon detecting that a predefined maximum charging voltage has been reached to react in at least one of the following ways: stop charging the storage capacitor, and closing an output switch so as to discharge of the storage capacitor through some load. The capacitance of each capacitor in the charging unit is substantially smaller than that of the storage capacitor so as achieve accurate maximum charging voltage as well as limited charging current.

There is provided an information processing apparatus including a travelable information display unit that displays before a discharge, regarding motor-driven movable bodies of a discharge source and a discharge destination driven by using electric power of batteries, information about places to which the motor-driven movable body of the discharge source can move using electric power of the battery left after the discharge by assuming, when information about a discharge amount discharged from the battery of the motor-driven movable body of the discharge source toward the motor-driven movable body of the discharge destination that receives power supply is input, a case in which the discharge amount is discharged from the battery.
BATTERY STORAGE SYSTEM
A battery system includes a battery receiving device and a plurality of battery units. Each battery unit can be coupled bidirectionally and inductively to one another and/or to the receiving device for charging/discharging. The receiving device can be connected to an external electrical energy source and/or sink. Each battery unit includes a coil unit. The receiving device has a storage seat for each battery unit removable with a magnetically complementary connectable coil unit for inserting/removing a battery unit without tools. The coil unit has a single coil which is substantially shaped as an elliptical, elongated flat coil, arranged in a half-shell housing and embedded in a ferrite core half-shell of ferrite elements, with a coil unit ratio of thickness to length/width of at least 1:5. The coil unit of the battery unit and receiving device are formed mechanically separable with a maximum distance between the coil units of 110 mm.

Electric Processing Tool Having an Energy Supply Device
An electric processing tool includes an energy supply device and an open-loop or closed-loop control unit. The energy supply device includes at least two energy sources which are interconnected, each in a series circuit with an electronic component for applying the logical operator “OR” to the individual current of the electronic component in question, to form a common star point, such that a resulting total current for supplying the electric processing tool results. At least a subset of the energy sources, in particular each energy source, is assigned a current-measuring unit for measuring the individual current of the energy source in question. The open-loop or closed-loop control unit is configured to adapt the total current to the measured individual currents.
HYBRID VOLTAGE SUPPLY FOR A MEASURING INSTRUMENT
The electronics comprises a load circuit, a power supply circuit having a rechargeable electrical energy storer, and a protection circuit. An input of the power supply circuit is adapted to be electrically connected with an external energy supply. Both the power supply circuit and the protection circuit have at least two operating modes. Additionally, the protection circuit is adapted in the first operating mode to monitor the cell voltage applied on the circuit input to determine whether its voltage level has exceeded a predetermined maximum value and, in given cases, automatically to deactivate the operating mode.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING A CONSUMER DEVICE WITH ELECTRICAL ENERGY
The disclosure relates to a method for supplying a consumer device with electrical energy from an industrial DC network. The method having includes establishing a connection between an energy storage and the industrial DC network and transferring electrical energy from the DC network to the energy storage. When the connection is established between the energy storage and the industrial DC network, a connection between the energy storage and the consumer device is disconnected and the consumer remains galvanically isolated from the industrial DC network. The method also includes establishing a connection between the consumer device and the energy storage and transferring electrical energy from the storage energy storage to the consumer device. When the connection is established between the consumer device and the energy storage, a connection between the energy storage and the industrial DC network is disconnected and the consumer device remains galvanically isolated from the industrial DC network. The disclosure also relates to a system and an apparatus for supplying a consumer device with electrical energy.

POWER UNIT INCLUDING MULTIPLE BATTERY PACKS FOR USE WITH OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT
A power unit operable to power equipment, the power unit including an electric motor, multiple removable and rechargeable battery packs, multiple switching elements, and a control unit. Each of the switching elements is connected between one of the battery packs and the electric motor and operate in one of an open position or a closed position. The control unit is operable to manage the position of the switching elements. The control unit is configured to determine whether one or more battery packs are supplying power for the electric motor, measure a voltage of each of the battery packs, determine whether each of the voltage measurements is within a predetermined value to each other, calculate a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal for each of the switching elements, assign each PWM signal to one of the switching elements, and apply each of the PWM signals to the assigned switching element.
