Technology and technique to prevent, diminish or interfere with the formation of hurricanes on earth from one or more platforms in space
Solar radiation is collected and converted to microwave energy by means maintained in outer space on one or more platforms in space. The microwave energy is then transmitted to earth and directed to and constantly focused on one or more segments of a generally circular and slowly rotating tropical depression, which is a precursor to a tropical storm and then a hurricane (alternatively called a cyclone or typhoon). The focused microwave energy interrupts the cycle of vertical upward and downward movement of air, water, & water vapor, and destabilizes the developing rotational motion of the tropical depression, causing it to break up and dissipate, and preventing it from ultimately developing into a hurricane. When not focusing microwave energy on a tropical depression, the microwave energy can alternatively be used to create earth based solar energy, which would help alleviate costs of operating the system solely for hurricane prevention.
Power photodiode structures and devices
According to the present disclosure, techniques related to manufacturing and applications of power photodiode structures and devices based on group-III metal nitride and gallium-based substrates are provided. More specifically, embodiments of the disclosure include techniques for fabricating photodiode devices comprising one or more of GaN, AlN, InN, InGaN, AlGaN, and AlInGaN, structures and devices. Such structures or devices can be used for a variety of applications including optoelectronic devices, photodiodes, power-over-fiber receivers, and others.
Power control circuit, power generator, and power generation system
According to one embodiment, a power control circuit includes a converter, a signal generating circuit, an estimation unit, and a controller. The converter includes a switching circuit and is configured to transform an output voltage from a power generator. The signal generating circuit is configured to transmit a signal to the switching circuit. The estimation unit is configured to determine a switching operation condition based on vibration information indicative of a vibration applied to the power generator. The controller is configured to control an operation of the switching circuit based on the determined switching operation condition.
POWER TRANSMITTING APPARATUS, POWER RECEIVING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHODS THEREOF, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A power transmitting apparatus measures a Q factor of a power transmitting unit that performs wireless power transfer to a power receiving apparatus, and determines presence/absence of an object different from the power receiving apparatus based on the Q factor. The power transmitting apparatus obtains a first index value regarding a predetermined physical amount different from the Q factor after measurement of the Q factor, obtains a second index value regarding the predetermined physical amount before wireless power transfer to the power receiving apparatus starts after the it is determined in the above determination that an object different from the power receiving apparatus does not exist; and determines presence/absence of an object different from the power receiving apparatus based on the first index value and the second index value.
DUAL-USE POWER BEAMING SYSTEM
A dual-use electromagnetic beam system may be used as a remote power delivery system when not needed as an offensive weapon. For example, a system for disabling or destroying uncooperative or enemy assets such as UAVs or ground vehicles may be used during “down time” to provide power to assets that are separated from prime power sources by distance or by logistics.

Systems, devices, and/or methods for managing peer-to-peer power distribution network
Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system, which comprises base and auxiliary multi point power chargers. The base multi point power charger is coupleable to an electrical energy source. The multi point power chargers are constructed to emit a plurality of directional beams. Each of the plurality of directional beams is directable toward a determined direction of an electronic device that is chargeable via the multi point power charger. The electronic device is comprised of the auxiliary multi point power charger.
Systems, devices, and/or methods for managing electrical energy
Certain exemplary embodiments can cause an electronic device to charge or be remotely powered via a device. The device comprises a wireless transceiver. The device is constructed to: identify an electronic device in proximity to the device; automatically add, hand off or remove the electronic device to/across/from the network; and automatically determine a charge or remote power level of the electronic device.
