The processing circuit is configured to receive one or more overrides of the one or more first participation hours from the user interface, generate one or more second participation hours, a second load reduction amount for each of the one or more second participation hours, and one or more second equipment loads for the one or more pieces of building equipment based on the received one or more overrides, and operate the one or more pieces of building equipment to affect an environmental condition of the building based on the one or more second equipment loads.
OPTIMAL DISPATCHING METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR WIND POWER GENERATION AND ENERGY STORAGE COMBINED SYSTEM
An optimal dispatching method and system for a wind power generation and energy storage combined system are provided. Uncertainty of a wind turbine output is characterized based on spatio-temporal coupling of the wind turbine output and an interval uncertainty set. Compared with a traditional symmetric interval uncertainty set, the uncertainty set that considers spatio-temporal effects effectively excludes some extreme scenarios with a very small probability of occurrence and reduces conservativeness of a model. A two-stage robust optimal dispatching model for the wind power generation and energy storage combined system is constructed, and a linearization technology and a nested column-and-constraint generation (C&CG) strategy are used to efficiently solve the model.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE ARRANGEMENT OF WAVE ENERGY CONVERTERS
Disclosed herein is a method for determining the arrangement of wave energy converters in a wave power park in a seabed or lake area including the steps of: measuring wavelength and wave direction over a period of time, collecting all values measured for the wavelength and the wave direction in a matrix, statistically determining, from the matrix, a predominant wavelength and a predominant wave direction, and arranging an amount X of wave energy converters at regular intervals over a distance that corresponds to half of the length of the predominant wavelength or a multiple thereof, where the distance is measured in a direction at least more or less parallel to the predominant wave direction.
HYBRIDIZED TRANSMISSION SWITCHING FOR CONTINGENCY MANAGEMENT IN ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS
Disclosed herein are systems and methods to perform hybridized transmission switching of an electric power system to avoid exceeding line ratings and minimize load shedding.
Power distribution control with asset assimilation and optimization
In a power control system a server maintains asset models that represent asset behaviour, each asset model being in real-time communication with its asset to dynamically inform the model of the status of the asset. A test is performed at the server by issuing a command to an asset requesting the asset to perform a function. Sensors at the asset measure physical parameters at the asset and report these to the server. The server determines whether the asset responded to the command and, if the asset responded, how it responded over time. The server establishes a model for the asset in terms of an energy capacitance and a time constant based on the measured response. An optimizer determines which assets are to participate in which service models. The server sends instructions to the selected assets to attempt to fulfill the services.
Ensuring safe servicing in a low-voltage network of the electric power distribution system
To ensure safety of people needing to service a low-voltage network of an electric power distribution system, dwellings being connected to this network may include autonomous units for producing electricity, thus generating voltage and endangering the people servicing the work. Data are obtained from consumption records from the meter of each dwelling, in regular time intervals, and meteorological data are also obtained in the geographical area of these dwellings, in order to identify at least some weather conditions conducive to the production of energy by autonomous units. A model is then applied for detecting, based on the first and second data, a coincidence between periods of lower consumption measured by a meter and weather conditions conducive to electricity production by autonomous units during these periods. Therefore, information on the presence of autonomous units in the dwelling can be deduced and given to people before their servicing.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ESTIMATING POWER LOSS USING POINT-TO-POINT DIFFERENTIAL LOAD CALCULATIONS
Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer program products are disclosed for predicting causes of changes in power loss along electric line segments. An example method includes receiving, by a control system, telemetry data from a set of devices in an electrical grid and storing, by the control system, the telemetry data in a memory. The example method further includes calculating, by the control system and using the telemetry data, a change in impedance in an electric line segment between two devices from the set of devices and determining, by the control system, a cause of the change in the impedance in the electric line segment between the two devices. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also disclosed.
System and method for estimating photovoltaic energy through irradiance to irradiation equating with the aid of a digital computer
The accuracy of photovoltaic simulation modeling is predicated upon the selection of a type of solar resource data appropriate to the form of simulation desired. Photovoltaic power simulation requires irradiance data. Photovoltaic energy simulation requires normalized irradiation data. Normalized irradiation is not always available, such as in photovoltaic plant installations where only point measurements of irradiance are sporadically collected or even entirely absent. Normalized irradiation can be estimated through several methodologies, including assuming that normalized irradiation simply equals irradiance, directly estimating normalized irradiation, applying linear interpolation to irradiance, applying linear interpolation to clearness index values, and empirically deriving irradiance weights. The normalized irradiation can then be used to forecast photovoltaic fleet energy production.
Electrical system control for achieving long-term objectives, and related systems, apparatuses, and methods
Systems and methods may use a low speed controller in addition to an economic optimizer to achieve long-term objectives without significantly disrupting or destabilizing an electrical system. Specific long-term objectives include maximizing a capacity factor incentive and regulating battery degradation, but the methods and systems herein can be extended to more long-term objectives. A low speed controller can adjust one or more parameters of a cost function based on the relation between the projected state of the electrical system and the one or more parameters to effectuate a change to the electrical system to attempt to comply with the long-term objective.
