Estimating capacity and usage pattern of behind-the-meter energy storage in electric networks

The present disclosure provides a method and a system for estimating capacity and usage pattern of behind-the-meter energy storage in electric networks. Conventional techniques on estimating an effective capacity of behind-the-meter energy storage of a consumer, in presence of distributed energy generation units is limited, computationally intensive and provide inaccurate prediction. The present disclosure provides an accurate estimate of the effective capacity and usage pattern of behind-the-meter energy storage of a target consumer utilizing data samples received from a utility in presence of one or more distributed energy generation units, using an energy balance equation with less computation and accurate prediction. Based on accurate estimation of the effective capacity and usage pattern, the utility may plan for proper infrastructure to meet power demands of the consumers.

A hybrid plug-in battery and hydrogen fuel engine vehicle with swappable modular hydrogen tanks and integrated with solar power generation system synergistically combines the advantages of electric vehicle, the solar powered electric vehicle, and the hydrogen fuel engine vehicle. This combination of battery electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel engine vehicle mitigates the issues of prolong charging time of battery electric vehicle and prohibitive high cost of fuel cell electric vehicle. This hybrid configuration of vehicle is able to take advantages of the electric vehicle charging station infrastructure and the hydrogen charging station infrastructure simultaneously. The introduction of the water electrolysis system into the new structure of the hybrid vehicle enables onboard hydrogen generation; has the advantage of conventional hybrid vehicle, but without using fossil fuel. The swappable hydrogen tanks comprise sensors and wireless communication electronic terminals to be shared by all vehicles.

A fuel cell system wherein a controller controls ON and OFF of switches of n phases; wherein the controller monitors current values of coils; the controller operates the switches of the n phases at different phases; wherein the controller operates duty ratios of the switches of the n phases with periodically increasing and decreasing them, and the controller measures an AC impedance of a fuel cell from a current waveform of and a voltage waveform of the fuel cell; and wherein, when the controller determines that a predetermined condition 1 is met, the controller makes amplitudes which increase and decrease the duty ratios large compared to other operating conditions.

A distributed energy conversion system may include one or more DC power sources and two or more inverters to convert DC power from the power sources to AC power. The AC power from the two or more inverters may be combined to provide a single AC output. A module may include one or more photovoltaic cells and two or more inverters. A DC power supplying system includes power conditioners that supply generated power of power generators to a DC bus, converters that perform voltage conversion on a bus voltage and supply load power to load appliances, bidirectional converters that execute charging operations that charge storage batteries and discharging operations that discharge the storage batteries, and an energy management system that causes the converters to execute a charging operation when the generated power exceeds the load power and to execute a discharging operation when the generated power is below the load power. During a charging operation, the energy management system applies a first voltage-current characteristic that linearly increases the charging current in keeping with an increase in the bus voltage to each bidirectional DC/DC converter with a slope in keeping with the SOC of a storage battery.

The system monitors a set of factors corresponding to the set of prediction strategies and switches a prediction strategy from the set of derived prediction strategies. The system predicts a set of predictions for identification of a potential future time-variant energy demand and consumption and predicts a set of predictions. The system manipulates an operational state of the plurality of energy consuming devices and the plurality of energy storage and supply means.
