A washing and/or disinfecting agent for washing and/or disinfecting surfaces, in particular skin surfaces, which comprises a base agent which is designed and intended for washing and/or disinfecting surfaces, in particular skin surfaces, with at least one indicator additive being admixed to the base agent, which, after contact with the surface, assumes a different color consistency than the base agent for a predeterminable period of time, so that the indicator additive serves as a marking means by means of which it is possible for the user to read whether the desired points of the surface to be washed and/or disinfected have been wetted with a sufficient amount of the base agent or have been wetted at all and/or a reaction time of the base agent has essentially been completed.

A skin-attaching sheet including an attaching portion configured for attaching to skin. The attaching portion includes a color-changeable layer that changes color following exposure to ultraviolet rays, and the attaching portion has a color difference (E*ab) in an L*a*b* color system between before exposure and 10 seconds after exposure of 5 or more and 300 or less in a standard exposure test in which the attaching portion is exposed to ultraviolet rays in a moist state.

Cosmetic and dermatological compositions, including color changing compositions, are provided which typically include a plurality of synthetic particles having a size in the micrometer or nanometer range. Each synthetic particle typically includes one or more aggregates of a pigment selected from phenoxazone, phenoxazine, and a derivate or precursor thereof, and a stabilizing material which has a refractive index larger than 1.45; the aggregates having a size larger than about 100 nm and the composition being biodegradable and biocompatible.

In one aspect, the disclosure relates to stimuli-responsive chromogenic compositions that change from a first color to a second color upon application to the skin of a subject and exposure to a stimulus including, but not limited to, heat, light, mechanical rubbing, exposure to electric current, and the like. The compositions include a non-toxic pigment and a cosmetic carrier and do not stain the skin. Additionally, the compositions are stable when stored, even under conditions of elevated temperature. Also disclosed are methods of making the same and methods of treating skin conditions using the same. A facial patch product includes a hydrocolloid patch, a hydrogel patch, and a silicone patch. A substrate having an edible color additive within the substrate or coated on the substrate is disclosed. The edible color additive comprises xanthommatin at a concentration of about 0.01% wt to about 0.5% wt and optionally a dry based carrier or a solution-based carrier. The substrate is a food, beverage, drink, medication or a drug form. The color additives of the disclosure can be produced in the color spectrum of yellow, orange, red, or concentrated forms (e.g., concentrated yellow appears as brown).

The cosmetic or dermatological formulation comprises an antioxidant or UV filter and xanthommatin pigment present in the formulation at a concentration of 0.01% wt to 0.5% wt to scavenge free radicals. The cosmetic or dermatological formulation can be a sun protectant composition having an SPF of 2-30.
