The present disclosure relates generally to keratin treatments. More particularly, but not by way of limitation, present disclosure relates to skin, nail, hair, and eyelash treatments comprising a keratin-peptide/dendrimer composition for ameliorating a condition of a nail. The keratin-peptide can be keratin or hydrolyzed or partially hydrolyzed keratin.

Mikto-arm star polymers were prepared comprising non-charged hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) arms and hydrophobic arms comprising a poly(propylene oxide) chain or phytol group. The polymer arms are covalently linked to a hydrophobic crosslinked polyester core formed by ring opening polymerization of a bis-cyclic ester initiated by mono-nucleophilic polymer arm precursors. The mikto-arm star polymers show improved loading capacity for Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10).

The present inventions relates to a composition for treating hair, especially human hair, the use of the composition, a process to treat human hair and a kit of parts comprising the composition. The inventors surprisingly found that a composition comprising a silicone vinyl dendrimer, a homopolymeric olefin, monomeric alkanes and/or cyclic silicones, and copolymers comprising olefinic and aromatic monomers mends hair split ends whose effect sustains several washes.

A cosmetic composition is disclosed, which comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of at least one vinyl polymer having at least one carbosiloxane dendrimer group in a side chain; (B) from 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of a surfactant; and (X) water; wherein an emulsified particle comprising at least component (A) and component (B) is in an aqueous phase; and wherein a weight average molecular weight of component (A) is at least 80000. By blending a vinyl polymer emulsion having a carbosiloxane dendrimer structure in an aqueous phase according to the present invention, a cosmetic that exhibits excellent softness, texture during usage and smoothness of finish, waterproofness, and makeup retaining properties can be provided.

Compositions including a highly branched alpha-D-glucan or modified forms thereof and a solute compound are described herein. The compositions can provide increased water solubility and/or increased rate of dissolution for the solute compound. The compositions can also provide increased stability for the solute compound. Methods for preparing and using compositions including a solute compound and a highly branched alpha-D-glucan are also described.

An oily solid cosmetic contains an alkyl-polyether-modified silicone having a siloxane dendron structure and a dimer acid ester. The oily solid cosmetic may also contain a candelilla wax resin and a low viscosity oil having a viscosity of 5 to 100 mPa.Math.s at 25 C. Example uses of the oily solid cosmetic include makeup cosmetics such as a lipstick, foundation, rouge, concealer, eye shadow, eyeliner, eyebrow, mascara, makeup base, and hair colorant. Additional uses include skin care cosmetics such as lip cream, lip balm, eye cream, moisturizing cream, and sunscreen.

A method for treating acne vulgaris by administering a polylysine dendrimer or a salt thereof. Methods for the management of blemish- or acne-prone skin are also described. The polylysine dendrimer is used as an active for restoring or rebalancing skin microbiota. The polylysine dendrimer is also used as an active agent for improving or restoring the aspect and the feel of the skin to be treated.

Compositions including at least one dendritic silicone acrylate copolymer, at least one silicone elastomer resin, and at least one surface-treated pigment, as well as methods of making such compositions and methods of applying such compositions to keratinous material are provided.
